The Future Expanded Church

God is not finished with his church. There is more yet to come. The Lord will build his church and Satan will not be able to stop it. He may try to prevent the building and expansion of the church but he will not succeed.

Past Episodes

At the present hour, Satan is raging. The church is being persecuted in many places. False teachings abound. Evil is spreading. Sometimes it looks as if all is lost. It looks as though God has forsaken his church and the world has been taken over by Satan and all his forces. Yet, we must not believe that. God has not forsaken his church. Satan is not in control. God will yet do great things in and through His church.

This passage seems to point further than the return of the exiles from Babylon to something that is worldwide. It points to a time when there will be a great increase in the church when people from all ove will come into Zion.

What is our vision for the church today? Are we sitting around waiting on a rapture to take us out of this evil world or are we pressing ahead with the gospel to the ends of he earth to win the whole world to Christ.

The light of the church will not be put out by the darkness. Though the darkness seems powerful at the moment, it will not overcome the light of the church. God will give it more light and its light will be so powerful that whole nations will come to it. The church must not retreat from the darkness but must advance with God's power and light to overcome the darkness of this world.

The Jewish people had been carried captive to Babylon but that was not the end. God had a plan and would carry it out. Their deliverance would come and many would return to Palestine. The city and temple would be rebuilt and one day the Messiah would come to that very temple. He would come as a Savior not only to the Jews but to the whole world.

Though He abandoned His Church in the Old Testament for a moment, He promised He would never do it again. We can count on God's promise. He will never again abandon His church as He once did. We must believe that. His Church will go on and God will be with us and not forsake us.

We need to get God's vision for this world and to believe His promise of a world wide coming to Christ. It is through the church that Jesus will bring salvation to a lost world. It's light will increase until the whole world will come to Christ through the message of the gospel. This is God's plan and promise. This we must believe.

He has also done postgraduate studies at the School of World Mission at Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife Susan live in Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Northwest.
