The "Why" Question

February 20, 2025

With everything happening in the world today, it’s natural to ask, “Why?” If you’ve ever been a parent of young children, you know how relentless that question can be. But today, Pastor Jack Morris challenges us to shift our focus from asking “Why?” to asking “Who?”

Instead of trying to understand every circumstance, we are called to trust in who God is—His sovereignty, His goodness, and His perfect plan. Isaiah 55:8 reminds us, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.” Join us as we explore how trusting in who God is can bring peace, even when we don’t have all the answers.

Pastor Jack Morris focuses on the family, taking us back to the very first family in Genesis. What began as a perfect union quickly unraveled when sin entered the world, bringing division and brokenness. Yet, despite the struggles families have faced since the beginning, God’s design for the family remains a beautiful and powerful blessing. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Anger is something we all experience, but too often, it is directed at the wrong things or expressed in the wrong way. Yet, in Scripture, we see that even God gets angry—not out of selfishness or impatience, but because His love for us is so great that He grieves when we stray from what is best. Ephesians 4:26 reminds us, “In your anger do not sin.” Today, Pastor Jack Morris explores the difference between righteous and unrighteous anger, helping us understand how to handle our emotions in a way that honors God and leads to peace.

In John 13:34, Jesus gives us a new commandment: “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” But how can we truly love others with the same depth and selflessness that Christ has shown us? Today, Pastor Jack Morris explores what it means to love as Jesus loves—through sacrifice, grace, and a heart that reflects God’s compassion. Join us as we learn how embracing His love empowers us to extend that same love to those around us, even when it seems difficult.

What’s in a name? If you have children, you likely put great thought into choosing their names. Isaiah 9:6 declares, “And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Today, Pastor Jack Morris leads us in a study of the name of Jesus and what it means for us. Join us as we explore the power, authority, and hope found in the name above all names.
