Called to Joy

Even in the midst of the trials and tragedies facing us today, those who have a relationship with God through salvation in Jesus Christ have a reason to rejoice and celebrate. Today Pastor Jack Morris is going to remind us what a marvelous Savior we have and why we should always rejoice without ceasing.

Psalm 70:4

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The Lord is great!”

Today Pastor Morris acknowledges that suffering is an inevitable part of life, even for those who follow Christ. However, he also highlights that God has a greater purpose in our trials, using them to teach us deeper faith and valuable lessons that can only come through adversity. Romans 5:1-4 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Pastor Morris reminds us that no matter how fierce the storms of life may seem, God is always faithful to deliver us, just as He has done countless times throughout Scripture. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
