You might remember a sarcastic phrase from social media a few years back; “The Struggle is Real”.  That phrase more or less poked fun at problems or struggles that were somewhat trivial compared to the big picture of life.  The truth is, though, that all of us do face real struggles in life.

Ben Cachiaras, the lead minister with Mountain Christian Church, and their 4 campuses located just outside of Baltimore, Maryland is our teacher, this month.  Ben is unpacking the reality of life’s struggles and how turning to THE “Shepherd” can make all the difference in the world.

So, most of us are somewhat familiar with the 23rd Psalm.  But in today’s message Ben is going to challenge our perspectives.  The statement “I shall not want…”  can mean many things to many people, but try this on for size, the writer of the 23rd Psalm meant it as a statement of faith.  Curious for the explanation? …here’s Ben.

Okay if you tell someone “Be Strong” that statement has implications. You are in essence saying to that person they have a say in whether or not they choose to remain in a state of weakness or strength. The condition demands a decision. It fits with what our speaker this month has been contending; that strength is both a grace and a choice.   Our teacher this month is Rick Atchley and the series is entitled “Stronger”.  Rick Atchley is the lead minister with The Hills Church in Fort Worth Texas with multiple campuses in the Dallas, Fort Worth area and beyond.    In today’s message; the Bible says our real fight in this world is a spiritual battle.  Rick today unpacks how being strong or being empowered made possible when we put the blame where it belongs, when we put on our “strong suit”, and when we put Jesus name on everyone and everything.  Intrigued?  Here’s Rick…

Here is a bold statement:  All the bad in this world we have to deal with is not from God, it is the result of our sin, bringing down the perfect world God created for us.  In today’s message, our speaker Rick Atchley contends that most of the struggles that weaken us are simply the fallout of living in a marred creation.  In fact, Rick says “since weakness is a consequence of darkness, it should never be met with passive meekness ”!    Our speaker this month is Rick Atchley.  Rick is the lead pastor with “The Hills Church” with multiple campuses in the Fort Worth, Texas area and beyond.    This month’s series is entitled “Strong” and we’re unpacking how  Strength is both a grace and a choice. It is a gift from God, and it is a pursuit of those who live in fellowship with God. The Bible tells us to be strong in the Lord, and in this series we are exploring how we can receive the gift and make THE choice.  Here’s Rick…

The Bible’s Book of Ephesians the 6th chapter tells us: “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”  Strength is both a grace and a choice. It is a gift from God, and it is a pursuit of those who live in fellowship with God. This month teacher, Rick Atchley is exploring how we can receive the gift and make the choice… to be Strong!   Rick Atchley is the lead pastor with the Hill’s Church in Fort Worth, Texas.  Today’s message is entitled “Finding Strength.”   Rick says; “Following Jesus for a lifetime is like running a marathon: long, demanding, and requiring an enormous amount of strength.”  In today’s message Rick unpacks how dealing with “Strength Sappers” and “Strength Builders” can be key to becoming Strong.  Here’s Rick…

My wife and I enjoy camping and hiking in the mountains of Colorado.  It is such a contrast to the Midwest where we make our home.  As the years go by, though, I am finding those mountains get taller and taller.  Hiking in the high altitudes gets harder with each passing year, and my energy, my stamina, my strength runs out much sooner than it used to.    Over the next few weeks Rick Atchley will be leading us in a study of Strength, a series entitled “Stronger”.  Rick is the lead pastor with the Hill’s Church in Fort Worth, Texas.  Today’s message is entitled “Got Strength?”   So many aspects of life require various kinds of strength, stamina, energy, and our Spiritual Lives are no different.  Life is hard and Spiritual energy runs out, we need to be renewed.  So, with a prescription for God’s spiritual vitamins, here’s Rick.

Ever “pretend” when you were growing up?  My toys for me were a window into a pretend world.  I could be a farmer driving his tractor, a truck driver driving his big rig, a pilot flying to anyplace in the world.  Perhaps you might have pretended to be a Princess, a King, a Cowboy or Cowgirl.  Childhood pretenses are one thing but pretending as an adult, can be devastating.   In today’s message, Aaron Brockett, lead minister with Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, unpacks what happens when pride becomes pretending and the ways it can destroy lives.     So, with a lesson from God’s word on what special seats, phylacteries, tassels, hypocrites, and pride all have in common, here’s Aaron…

Every single one of us has a vulnerability or weakness in our character that, left unchecked, can and will bring down our relationships, reputation, and influence. That weakness is pride – where pride is an unhealthy preoccupation with self.   This week, Aaron Brockett, preaching minister at Trader’s Point Christian Church with multiple campuses in Indianapolis, IN, shares insights into the root of nearly every sin struggle we have.   You might be surprised to learn that scripture makes it clear that God hates pride. His hatred is not without reason, He knows pride is at the root of nearly every sin struggle we have, and that explains why the Bible relates one of the most loving things God does for us is oppose pride in our lives. So, here’s Aaron with insight into how there is freedom in letting go of pride, embracing humility, and acknowledging our need for God in everything we do

Will Rogers, who was an American humorist, actor, and author in the early 20th century is quoted to have said: “Too many people spend money they earned… to buy things they don't want… to impress people that they don't like.” He may have said that nearly a hundred years ago but it sure seems familiar in today’s culture.  In fact, the essence of that statement falls under the heading of something we all exhibit, we clearly see in others, but becomes invisible in our own mirror.   In today’s message, “Where Can You be Taken Down?”, Aaron Brockett, preaching minister at Trader’s Point Christian Church with multiple campuses in Indianapolis, IN, sets his sights on “Pride”.   So, Aaron contends, while it may take a variety of forms, we all share a common point of human weakness, but there is hope.  Here’s Aaron with a bit of armor for our Achilles heels.

TCH is a ministry of Gospel Broadcasting Mission.  GBM’s mission is to broadcast the message of Jesus in many languages to peoples and tribes world-wide.  Many of our broadcasters work in places where persecution is the rule of the day and freedom to worship is greatly restricted.  We are thankful for the freedom we enjoy in this country and how we have the freedom to share the Hope of eternity, not only here through TCH, but to the world!  We hope your Independence Day celebrations included giving thanks to God  for the blessings we enjoy here in this place.    In today’s message Aaron Brockett, preaching minister with Trader’s Point Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN, is on a hunt for the spiderwebs we allow to entangle us, and shares insight on how to gain control over the critters that weave them.  Here’s Aaron…

In today’s message, Gene Appel is going to quote a statistic that says; if you make 50,000 per year as a household, you are in the top 1% of all wage earners in the entire world!  Given that new perspective, from the Bible’s book of James, we are challenged to take a new look at how we manage the resources God has blessed us with, both spiritual and physical.    This month, Gene Appel, Lead Pastor with Eastside Christian Church in Anaheim, California with 7 campuses in 3 states has been walking us through the Bible’s book of “James” with a glimpse of what faith looks like when it’s lived out authentically with all our heart, soul, mind, strength!   So, exploring, the spiritual risks faced by both the less affluent and the wealthy members of today’s diverse church communities, here’s Gene Appel…
