How does a Christian pursue sanctification? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview. Sanctification means being set apart for God or holiness. In Scripture, God is described as “holy, holy, holy” and believers are called to “be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16 But how? The pursuit of sanctification is more than just doing what is right and avoiding what is sinful. It is surrendering to God’s will, allowing the Holy Spirit to conform us to the perfect example of sanctification—Jesus Christ.
