You don’t have to look far to find Christians fighting with each other.  Whether it’s a heated disagreement related to an interpretation of the Bible, or a fight springing from an unkind word spoken in anger!  While we’re to be living in harmony, more often than not Christians aren’t getting along. Do we even stop to wonder what the world thinks as they look on, or even more important what God thinks? Pastor Jeff Johnson is leading a study of First Peter, and today on Sound Doctrine we’re encouraged to be like minded and sympathetic.

The Gospel offers forgiveness for the past, new life for the present, and hope for the future. As we near the end of our study of Second Chronicles we’ll hear of God’s readiness to save. But that salvation must be received.

Traditions can be valuable if there’s real meaning infused in them. But mere religion can never take away sins or give the sinner a share in eternity. We need a Savior for that. And we have one in Jesus! That’s something to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving Day!   As we near the end of our studies in Second Chronicles we’ll get a glimpse of Jesus pictured in the Passover.

Sin is man’s greatest problem. So, no matter what kind of religion a man has, if it cannot deal with sin, ultimately it’s of no value.
