Time to Go Part 2

Hope is low for many in our world. Some wonder how they can make it another day! But today on Sound Doctrine we’ll see where hope is found in a world like ours. Noah and the flood is a good example to us on where to find rest for our souls and hope for tomorrow. Pastor Jeff Johnson will be covering Genesis chapter eight, and at this point in time the great flood is over and it’s about time for Noah, his family and the animals to step out onto dry land.

He’ll also compare this to another worldwide judgement that’s coming, spoken about in Revelation chapters 6-19. Just like in Noah’s day there is a way out, a place of refuge.

Glad you could join us, as we return to our study of Daniel. We left off in chapter seven at verse nine. In the passage before us we’re talking about things that haven’t happened yet, but could very soon! Pastor Jeff will draw attention to the Revived Roman Empire spoken of by Daniel, as well as the final antichrist who will come onto the scene in the last days.

Today pastor Jeff Johnson begins Genesis chapter seven. God is about to judge the world by flood, but before He does, He tells Noah and his family to board the Ark. Pastor Jeff will compare this to another judgement that’s coming, and stress how important it is that we board the Ark so to speak. We do that through faith in Jesus.

Today we aim to complete Genesis chapter six with pastor Jeff Johnson. We’ll be comparing Noah’s Ark to what we have in Jesus! As you’ll hear momentarily the Ark is a beautiful picture of Christ. For example, just like the ark, Jesus is the only way to escape the judgement that’s coming.

What do you do when you see disaster looming? Hopefully you are prepared for when it comes. But do you also try to help bring others into safety? Today on Sound Doctrine, pastor Jeff Johnson is continuing the story of Noah and the Great Flood. Despite the wickedness of the world and the coming disaster, Noah preached to those around him. We know there is a time coming when God will judge the earth, not by flood but by fire. Are we doing everything we can to guide people into the safety of salvation?

We’re knee deep into our study of Genesis, and we left off in chapter six. I probably don’t have to convince you that we’re living in the last days, but the question we’ll entertain today is how should we be living at such a time as this? We get some clues as we look at how Noah lived in a very dark time, similar to our own. He walked with God, keeping his eyes on the Lord. Pastor Jeff says we need to do the same.

We’ll be in Daniel chapter seven if you want to find your place there now, looking at some amazing prophecy that has yet to be fulfilled. And some of it is being fulfilled right before our eyes! These are difficult days to be living in, but it sure helps to keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and His soon return.
