Prayer is an every day part of the life of a Christian - at least it should be! The bible is filled with examples of what prayer can accomplish. In Acts twelve, Peter is in prison, and his friends are earnestly praying for him. Let’s see what prayer can accomplish as we join Jeff Johnson with today’s message.

We are currently in a verse by verse study of the book of Acts. As we begin chapter twelve today, the topic is the power of prayer. There are plenty of powerful things around us in the year 2025. Rocket ships, power plants - they all generate lots of power, but they all pale in comparison with the power of God, available to us through prayer.

This book is referred to as the “Acts of the Apostles”, but as pastor Jeff has reminded us several times in this series, it would be more accurately titled “The Acts of the Holy Spirit, through the Apostles”. We’ll be in Acts eleven, verses nineteen through thirty today, and a message titled, “Not By Might or Power, But By My Spirit”.

We are exploring Acts chapter two again today, as wee see the first witnesses of the Christian church sent out to share the good news of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.

The message of the Gospel is supposed to go out to everyone. When it’s shared with us, we’re to tell others about it. Pastor Jeff Johnson will stress this important truth, and show us what sort of response we can expect as we share the message. That’s what we can expect today on Sound Doctrine as we resume our chapter by chapter topical study of Acts. We’ll be in chapter eleven today.
