The Church's First Miracle Part 1
January 8, 2025
Today we open the book of Acts to chapter three and begin to look at a story of a man the Lord heals. The Lord gives this man far more than he could have ever imagined! It’s very encouraging to remind ourselves that our God seeks to do far more in and through our lives than we could have ever dreamed possible. The reminder is necessary because life beats us down - sometimes to the point where we settle for far less.

When the Holy Spirit descended upon the believers on the day of Pentecost, it set in motion the wheels of an active, evangelistic Christian movement that later on in this book, swept up many a man and woman - including a certain man who came to be known as the Apostle Paul. When we left pastor Jeff Johnson last time he was presenting the first of four things that the early church was known for. Things that kept them healthy, and strong! And I think you’d agree good news is desperately needed today in our day of hopelessness and uncertainty! Right at the heart of the Gospel message is Jesus and His resurrection. And Peter’s first gospel message features just that.

Today we return to our verse by verse study in Acts. We left off in chapter two at verse five. As believers in Christ we’re to be witnesses in this world. Whether it’s speaking to our neighbor across the street about Christ, or going overseas to share the love of Jesus. But to do this effectively we need to be spirit-filled and led. Here in Acts chapter two we see the churches first witness!
