We’re in Acts chapter four. In this section of scripture we’re looking at today, Peter has just given a God-inspired evangelistic sermon to a group of people who have observed a miraculous healing of a lame man. 5,000 people ended up giving their hearts to God. One might expect that joy would abound, and everyone would be excited by the news. But that wasn’t the case.

That’s exactly what’s about to happen to Peter and John... but in a good way! They’re on their way to the temple to pray and they come across a lame man begging for money. What happens at The Beautiful Gate is nothing short of a miracle.

Today we open the book of Acts to chapter three and begin to look at a story of a man the Lord heals. The Lord gives this man far more than he could have ever imagined! It’s very encouraging to remind ourselves that our God seeks to do far more in and through our lives than we could have ever dreamed possible. The reminder is necessary because life beats us down - sometimes to the point where we settle for far less.
