Today we are going to bring you pastor Jeff’s last study in Acts chapter nine, as we continue our verse by verse journey through the fifth book of the New Testament. Many biblical scholars refer to Acts as the “fifth gospel”, and we con certainly see why. The four gospels describe the mighty and powerful grace of God in display in the life of Jesus Christ, and here in Acts, we see the third person of the trinity at work - the Holy Spirit.

Today on Sound Doctrine with Pastor Jeff Johnson we see that the Apostle Paul had a problem. He is now doing and saying something completely different than what he has in the past and people are skeptical of his new found faith. But we will see he has changed his direction because he’s met the true and living God.

Today, in Acts chapter nine, the Lord has appeared to Saul. In an abrupt change of events Saul is no longer the persecutor of Christians but now proclaiming that Jesus is the Son of God. It is a huge change of direction for Saul’s life. The change was dramatic. And as Saul continued to grow in the Lord, his preaching became more powerful.

As you look at your life, and consider all that you’ve said and done, you might think there’s no possible way God would accept you much less use you! Well, the good news is, He will lovingly embrace you and will use you. He loves to reconcile people to Himself. If you need proof that nobody is beyond the reach of God, just turn to Acts chapter nine and join us for a great time in God’s word, as we read about the conversion of Saul.

Today we’re going to jump right back into our study of the book of Acts. There are many landmark events described in the Bible. But the one we’ll look at today was significant in many way. In the ninth chapter of Acts, the conversion of Saul takes place. It’s because of this one event that a significant portion of the New Testament was written.
