Prophecy Update Part 1c

We’ll be in Daniel chapter seven if you want to find your place there now, looking at some amazing prophecy that has yet to be fulfilled. And some of it is being fulfilled right before our eyes! These are difficult days to be living in, but it sure helps to keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and His soon return.

We thought we’d turn to a verse today on Sound Doctrine that we believe will be a great encouragement to you moms, as you endeavor to raise your kids for Christ. As if I had to remind you, that’s becoming increasingly difficult in these last days.

The Book of Daniel is packed with prophecies, some that have happened already, but there are also some prophecies that are still yet to be fulfilled. Some of which may happen in the near future! It points to four great world empires, leading up to Christ’s return and the Kingdom to come!

Our God is an awesome God! Remember singing that tune a few years back? And how true it is. He’s so awesome He can even stop the mouths of lions. He delivers and rescues in amazing ways. That comes to our attention in a powerful way today on Sound Doctrine as we have another look at Daniel in the lion’s den.

Are you in the midst of a scary trial? Few things in life are as scary as being thrown into a den of man-eating, hungry lions! That’s where we find Daniel today on Sound Doctrine. And yet Daniel trusted God every step of the way, and God would deliver him. With that in mind, we can and must trust the Lord in every situation we find ourselves in.

In Proverbs 8:13, we read, “To fear the Lord is to hate evil: I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.” This is just one of many places in Scripture where God makes it clear what He thinks of pride. He resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. We’re going to take notice of two things we need in our lives, through a study of First Peter five. Pastor Jeff Johnson says it’s Humility and Resistance.

We’ve seen it happen recently, where the Government issues an order, and as the church we’re faced with the decision will we obey God or man? That’s the decision Daniel would have to make at this point in his life. Let’s see together how he would respond with prayer!

It’s one thing to be faithful to the Lord when things are going great, but what about when the heat is on and your very own life is threatened if you do? Today on Sound Doctrine we’re encouraged in the direction of faithfulness to God no matter what. We’ll see what that looks like in the life of Daniel.
