Noah's Ark Part 2

Noah’s Ark… you may have heard a thing or two about it in Sunday School. But what you may not realize is it beautifully portrays our salvation and God’s provision for the world in Christ. We’ll learn about this and more today as we deep dive into Genesis chapter six.

We’re knee deep into our study of Genesis, and we left off in chapter six. I probably don’t have to convince you that we’re living in the last days, but the question we’ll entertain today is how should we be living at such a time as this? We get some clues as we look at how Noah lived in a very dark time, similar to our own. He walked with God, keeping his eyes on the Lord. Pastor Jeff says we need to do the same.

We’ll be in Daniel chapter seven if you want to find your place there now, looking at some amazing prophecy that has yet to be fulfilled. And some of it is being fulfilled right before our eyes! These are difficult days to be living in, but it sure helps to keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and His soon return.

In our passage in Genesis chapter six today, great wickedness is described. We’re not unfamiliar with that today. It seems everywhere we turn in our world, wrong is being called right and right wrong, people are living for their own selfish pleasures. However, as we’ll see in the story of Noah, our God is full of grace. We can turn to Him and find salvation and grace.

As parents there are those times when we extend grace, love and patience to our kids. But sometimes their rebellion or disobedience reaches a point where we can’t help but say, “Enough is enough.” You might say, that’s the place we find our Lord, today on Sound Doctrine. Pastor Jeff Johnson will show us why God chose to judge the earth through a worldwide flood today as our study of Genesis continues.

The next event on the prophetic calendar is the rapture of the church, and everything is setup for this to occur… perhaps even in our lifetime. Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll hear of an Old Testament type of the rapture. Enoch walked with God and the Lord took him away. Interestingly this occurred right before the Flood, when God would pour out His wrath upon the world.

Pastor Jeff will point out the significance of the genealogies of the Bible. They really unfold God’s plan of redemption of mankind.

One of them represents a revived Roman Empire, that we’ve yet to see. It'll be made up of ten nations, and they will hand the reigns over to the antichrist. Are we seeing this taking shape, even as we speak? Join us and find out.

Pastor Jeff Johnson will be completing Genesis chapter four today, and again point to the Product of Sin. When Cain gave into pride, jealousy and anger it led him down a terrible path that included the very own murder of his brother. The sin brought death and distance from God, and even moral disorder in the home! It's important to realize our sin can do the very same thing.
