No Compromise Part 3

April 7, 2022

Pastor Jeff Johnson is about to recall the courageous stand taken by three young Hebrews.  They refused to bow the knee to the King, in the face of a fiery furnace.  Pastor Jeff is about to relate this to what we’re facing today, and how courage is desperately needed at this very hour.

We’re in Daniel chapter two today. You may recall last time we were together, Nebuchadnezzar had a troubling dream and wants to know what it’s all about.  In the verses before us today God is going to reveal the interpretation to Daniel and he would then relay that to the King!  What does this have to do with you?  More than you may realize!  You’ll want to stay tuned as it speaks volumes about the last days.

The plan today on Sound Doctrine is to polish off First Peter chapter four and the subject at hand is suffering. It’s a fitting topic for us in light of what we’ve been through recently.  And aren’t you glad God gives us hope and encouragement for times like these in His Word?  The hardship we face takes on a whole new light when you know that God is using it for good. But it’s a lesson we each must learn for ourselves.

We’ve got a very interesting study all lined up for you today on Sound Doctrine, as together we open Daniel chapter two.  If you’ll recall Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, which Daniel is now interpreting.  We want to focus today on the fourth kingdom in this dream, described as iron mixed with clay.  It has ten toes!  Pastor Jeff Johnson believes this is speaking of a Revived Roman Empire that will assemble at the time of the end.

What does the future hold?  While many set out to answer that question by going to Psychics or looking to the stars, really we only need to open the Word for everything we need to know about it.  And that’s what we’re about to do on Sound Doctrine.  Pastor Jeff Johnson opens Daniel chapter two today which has been described as the backbone of prophecy, for good reason!  It contains some incredible prophecy.

We're in Daniel two today.  Nebuchadnezzar had a troubling dream and he goes on a quest to discover its meaning.  In the verses before us today God is going to speak to the pagan King and He’ll use Daniel in the process.   Through it all, we’re carefully considering this question, What does the future hold?

We’ve all had nightmares, and some of them were so terrifying that even after we wake up we still question whether or not it was real.  Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll see how God got a King’s attention through his sleep, and in doing so revealed world history.

Someone has said “if you’re going through a difficult time keep going. Even the darkest hour still has only sixty minutes.”  It’s easier said than done to be sure. And not to trivialize any suffering you’re facing but our aim is only to reassure you there’s hope and encouragement to be found in God’s Word, specifically First Peter.  And that’s where we join pastor Jeff Johnson today on Sound Doctrine.
