Freedom is precious because of what it affords us. But what happens when we don’t live in our freedom, not to sin. We’re held captive by it and miss what God has for us or worse. But there’s the remedy of grace and we’ll hear about it on today’s Sound Doctrine with pastor Jeff Johnson.

As you read your Bible you can’t help but see God loves to heal and restore lives.   Whether it’s the restoration of Peter after his denial, or who could forget the lame, the dead or those with a demon that Jesus would heal and restore!  But is the God of yesterday the same God today?  Does He still heal and restore lives?  You bet. Join us at the end of First Peter chapter two on Sound Doctrine, as pastor Jeff Johnson focuses on Healing and Restoration.

Too many of God’s people, even leaders of God’s people, are taken in by the world. Don’t let it be you.  As we continue in Second Chronicles chapter twenty-five we’re alerted to some danger that exists still today.

One of the great lessons of the bible is the mercy and grace of God for sinners. While God’s grace is the remedy for sin, it’s never to be an excuse to go on sinning. It’s a lesson God wants us to learn as we’ll hear on today’s Sound Doctrine with pastor Jeff Johnson. One of the ways God does that is through chastisement.

“The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” So said Mark Twain. But that’s only half the story!  You must finish as well. It’s easier said than done!  The Bible is littered with those who only have a good beginning but not a good ending. We’ll hear of one today.

Let’s face it, we can so easily drift into a worldly mindset.  Many are living that way.  But today on Sound Doctrine we’d like to encourage you to put on the mind of Christ.  How do you do this?  In short by following the example of Jesus.  And pastor Jeff Johnson will show us what that looks like on Sound Doctrine.

It’s been well said “That no one has ever become poor by giving.” And “the happiest people are those who are not getting more but giving more.” Still many struggle in their giving to the Lord. While it’s understandable, having bills to pay and limited resources, it’s not necessary.  The Lord knows and is certainly able to provide! That comes to our attention in a powerful way on today’s Sound Doctrine.

The disciples on the road to Emmaus we’re all but dead till Jesus came and spoke the word.  The Word burned in their heart and revived them.  Here at Sound Doctrine it's our desire that God’s Word would burn in your heart like it did then and many other times in history. One such time is recorded in Second Chronicles chapter twenty-three.

It’s seems like the enemy has the upper hand. And there’s no stopping him. That’s not a new problem as we’ll learn on today’s Sound Doctrine with pastor Jeff Johnson. The Old Testament book of Second Chronicles bears testimony to this problem of evil. While it’s still a battle, God wins!
