Lion's with Lockjaw? Part 3

Our God is an awesome God! Remember singing that tune a few years back? And how true it is. He’s so awesome He can even stop the mouths of lions. He delivers and rescues in amazing ways. That comes to our attention in a powerful way today on Sound Doctrine as we have another look at Daniel in the lion’s den.

In Proverbs 8:13, we read, “To fear the Lord is to hate evil: I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.” This is just one of many places in Scripture where God makes it clear what He thinks of pride. He resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. We’re going to take notice of two things we need in our lives, through a study of First Peter five. We’ve seen it happen recently, where the Government issues an order, and as the church we’re faced with the decision will we obey God or man? That’s the decision Daniel would have to make at this point in his life. Let’s see together how he would respond with prayer!

It’s one thing to be faithful to the Lord when things are going great, but what about when the heat is on and your very own life is threatened if you do? Today on Sound Doctrine we’re encouraged in the direction of faithfulness to God no matter what. We’ll see what that looks like in the life of Daniel.

We live in a world that is becoming more and more hostile toward Christians. All around the world we see the persecution of believers growing at an alarming rate. And we even see that that here in America, especially in recent years. Today on Sound Doctrine pastor Jeff Johnson teaches from Daniel chapter 6 about the persecution of Daniel that landed him in the lion’s den. It’s one of the more familiar stories in the Old Testament.
