It Was the Best and the Worst Part 1

November 24, 2021

Sin is man’s greatest problem. So, no matter what kind of religion a man has, if it cannot deal with sin, ultimately it’s of no value. It’s why, “Nothing but the blood of Jesus” is such a favorite hymn. It reminds us how our sin can be washed away. And we’ll get another reminder today on Sound Doctrine with pastor Jeff Johnson. It’s found in

Second Chronicles, chapter thirty-five.

“You have not because you ask not,” the Bible teaches. Perhaps that’s why revival tarries in some quarters, they’re not asking for it!   We trust you’re praying for and receiving some measure of revival, and that it grows.  And if not, well today’s Sound Doctrine can really be of some help to you.

How’s the marriage going these days?  Could it use a little fine tuning, or maybe a major overhaul?  There’s always room for growth in any marriage, and that’s why we believe this study in First Peter chapter three is so important.  Having already examined what it has to say to wives, now pastor Jeff Johnson moves on to us husbands! Let’s see together how to be the man of God, that we’re to be in the home.  When applied you just might see a revival break out in your home.

He does indeed do that but that’s not all He anoints!  In making our way through Second Chronicles we’ve come to the last of the five revivals recorded in this book. And as we pick up in chapter thirty-four we learn this revival touches just about everyone.

Martin Luther is quoted as saying, “Prayer is not overcoming God's reluctance. It is laying hold of His willingness.”  With that said, what God is willing to do is often misunderstood. Today’s Sound Doctrine with pastor Jeff Johnson will provide some clarity and some encouragement too. Who knows, perhaps it’ll even spark a revival in you!
