Pastor Jeff Johnson will continue our study in Ecclesiastes today.  We left off in chapter three, at verse eleven.  God is wanting to do a beautiful work in our lives, and make something beautiful out of our lives.  That comes shining through in this passage which emphasizes, in His time, God makes all things beautiful.

Today we get back into our series in Ecclesiastics.  We’ll be covering chapter three.  Our lives revolve around time.  Could you imagine trying to navigate through life without it?  When would we arrive at work, or schedule an appointment without the time?  God is also very concerned about time, and as we’ll see today there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.

As we look around it might be easy for us to conclude that things are spinning out of control, and wonder if God is really in control!  So is He?  Ecclesiastes makes it clear that God is sovereign and everything under His control has its season.  God’s timing is perfect, ours isn’t. So shouldn’t we try to exercise patience and wait for God to act in our lives and show us the way?

Let me ask you a question... do you think if you were the wealthiest person on the face of the earth, had the fame, had a beautiful spouse that you’d be happy and satisfied? We’ll meet someone who had all that and more, and wasn’t!  The search for a satisfied life, continues today on Sound Doctrine as pastor Jeff Johnson returns to his new study of Ecclesiastes.  We’ll be in chapter two, considering the question, “What is the Meaning of Life?”

Join us today in the book of Ecclesiastics, chapter two. This chapter can be capsulated this way: True satisfaction in life is found in a relationship with Christ. And I should add, nowhere else!  Need proof, just look at King Solomon who had everything a man could want materially, and yet felt empty and unfulfilled. We’d do well to learn from his experiences.

We’ve got a great study lined up for you today in the second chapter of Ecclesiastics.  King Solomon was a deep thinker and realized at a time in his life that the material and sensual pleasures he enjoyed were really worthless. That’s a great lesson for us in this materialistic world we live in. So join Jeff Johnson for Solomon’s search for a satisfied life from Ecclesiastics chapter two.
