We’re about to bring you some amazing prophecy from Daniel chapter nine as we take a closer look at Daniel’s 70 weeks. Today Jeff will focus our time and attention on the soon return of Jesus. He’s coming back as King, to setup His Kingdom.

In recent weeks we’ve been witness to some high drama. Jacob deceived his father to receive the blessing, and is on the run from his brother, who wants to kill him. And after a long journey, Jacob finally goes to sleep. And he would have an encounter with God that would totally change him!

No matter where we are, or what we go through, God is with us. What a blessing for the believer to cling to. And today on Sound Doctrine we’ll be reminded of God’s presence, and we’ll also hear what our response should be to this! We’ll be in Genesis chapter 28. And God is dealing with Jacob. We’ll soon discover this is reminiscent of how He deals with us too!

Right now we’re in Genesis chapter 28, and for the next 8 chapters the focus will be on Jacob. Up until now we’ve seen Jacob up to no good, but God got a hold of his life. And we begin to hear of his transformation and really the saving of Jacob in this chapter.

We left off in Genesis chapter 28. Many of us are fascinated with angels. We wonder at times if we’ve encountered them without even knowing it! In this portion of Scripture Jacob has a dream, and he’s seeing angels ascending and descending upon a ladder to heaven. We’ll hear all about these ministering spirits of God, but also hear how this ladder speaks of Jesus the only ladder to heaven!

We enter chapter 28 of Genesis today and the focus is on Jacob. If you’ll recall, he had just deceived his father into receiving the blessing. Yes Jacob was a conniver, a heal catcher. But God would change his life, and he would be governed by God. We’ll hear all about this transformation which should encourage us all in light of our sin-stained past.

We’re about to continue our series in Daniel. And in recent days we’ve been spotlighting Daniel’s 70 weeks, in Daniel chapter nine. Pastor Jeff is quick to point out how important this chapter is, as it really unlocks God’s prophetic program for us. No doubt why some Bible scholars refer to it as the backbone of Bible prophecy.

From the person who took drugs for years and now is paying for it with health problems, to the parent who neglected their kids and now they have severe problems as adults. Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll see another example played out before us in Genesis chapter 27, through Isaac and Rebekah, and their two boys.
