A Seared Conscience

[Demons] ...speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry....
1 Timothy 4:2-3

People become deceived by listening to lying, seducing spirits and deceptive doctrines of demons. Self-righteous people who align themselves with false religious practices often become sacrilegious hypocrites. As they embrace deceptive lies, they experience a seared conscience, becoming dead to what is really true. When a person has a major operation, often the incision area of the skin becomes scarred and hard. There is a loss of feeling because nerves become disrupted. In the same way, a person with a seared conscience becomes hardened to the truth. They cannot discern the truth from a lie anymore.

When deceived, what kinds of things do people start to adhere to? The first thing we are told is that they forbid men and women to marry. Unfortunately, this heresy is ingrained in Roman Catholicism. The priests and nuns are not allowed to marry. They take a vow of celibacy and chastity. In fact, they are considered to be married to the Church. This teaching falls under the tradition of men. There are those who do have the gift of singleness (1 Corinthians 7:6-7), but marriage itself was ordained by God.

It is interesting, but not surprising, that Satan would try to destroy marriage––a union only between one man and one woman. If there are no marriages, then there are no children. God said to the man and woman, “...be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28).

What about gender ideology? God is not the author of confusion, Satan is (1 Corinthians 14:33). Girls are not boys, neither are boys, girls! Can you discern demonic influence in transgender ideology? There is a great deception that has been widely spread throughout our society. People have exchanged the truth of God for the lie (Romans 1:25).

Satan’s lies will keep you in darkness without the light of salvation.
