Our Heavenly Citizenship

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
Philippians 3:20-21

Our citizenship is in heaven! So beautiful. Paul was eagerly waiting to see his Savior. What are you waiting for today? Are you eagerly waiting to be with your Lord?

I am looking forward to heaven. In these Last Days, we await the Rapture of the Church. Paul used the context of this event to express what he was waiting for. He spoke of the Rapture and the transformation of our lowly, earthly bodies. The word transform means “to change.” Where does the Bible speak about the Rapture? This sudden event is mentioned in many places in the Bible, but let us read 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 NLT:

But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die....

There are people who do not believe in the Rapture of the Church, but there will be a generation that will not die! The Lord will come and take them home. These believers will be instantly in the presence of the Lord. The Church will be gone! Can you imagine the fear of all those people left behind?

As Jesus has not yet returned, keep your focus on serving and loving Him until He comes.

The Bible says that as long as we are here on earth, we are strangers in a foreign land. There are enemies to be conquered before we return home. This world is not our home; our citizenship is in heaven.
