God’s Promise of Provision

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Philippians 4:19-20

Paul has been on both sides of the financial road––at times blessed with financial provisions, and other times, he suffered need and went without. In either case, he learned to be content with his circumstances.

God can teach us so many lessons about finances. Do not take the long road by making mistakes with your finances; do not overspend and get into debt. Be content with whatever God has given to you. God does not promise to supply your greed, but your need! You are not going to get anything from Him that will ruin you, but only what you need.

Maybe you have financial problems, but God is there for you. All you have to do is trust Him to supply your needs according to His riches. He will never fail in providing for you in His perfect time. This is a miracle of God. David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, reminds us:

I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; and his descendants are blessed (Psalm 37:25-26).

What is your need today? It may be financial, physical or spiritual. Hold on to this prayerful promise and underline it in your Bible: ...my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Pray about your needs; God will provide according to His will. Wait on the Lord and be at peace. He will help you to be content in life.

A daily portion is really all we need. We do not need tomorrow’s supply, for that day has not yet dawned, and its needs are still unborn.
