Why Glorify God?

June 9, 2024

As the ancient creeds of orthodoxy remind us: Christ came to call sinners, and now sits at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. The ascended Jesus is now preparing our place in heaven, having sent the Holy Spirit who is now the tangible presence of God with us in Jesus’ physical absence. Who is the Holy Spirit? What is the Spirit’s role in our life? How can we experience God’s blessings day by day? This series explores the vibrant Christian life lived in the Holy Spirit.

About Jesse Lund

Rev. Jesse Lund is a fourth generation Californian, born, raised, and residing in Southern California. He is married to Kate, his college sweetheart and wife of 30 years. They have three children: Megan (26), Samantha (24), and Caleb (17).
Jesse graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing. He enjoyed an 18-year executive career in banking, finance, and technology at Wells Fargo, continuing at IBM. Simultaneously, Jesse completed his Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary and began serving as an ordained bi-vocational Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church in 2013. As a lifelong learner and committed follower of Jesus, Jesse has studied theology, ethics, and leadership at the doctoral level, attending Duke University, and currently completing his Doctor of Ministry at Liberty University.
Throughout his career, Jesse has been enthusiastically involved in Christian mission, and especially Great Commission initiatives. He and Kate have faithfully served the church and various parachurch organizations, including a long time ministry partnership with the Jesus Film Project and Cru, spanning more than two decades. In 2019 Jesse was called into full time pastoral ministry, ultimately resigning his executive role at IBM to become the Pastor of San Clemente Presbyterian Church where he currently serves today.
