God doesn’t want us to just know facts about Him but rather to know Him intimately. When we spend time with Him, our relationship grows and we get to know Him deeper as He already knows us completely. The more we know Him intimately, the more we can hear His voice and obey Him.

While it’s not our job to convince people to believe in God, it is our job to plant seeds of the Gospel truth in their hearts and pray that the Holy Spirit will make it grow. Jesus took on Himself all of our sin so that we could be saved, and although it sounds like the craziest story it is also the greatest story that we should be telling to everyone we meet.

There are times in our lives when we feel trapped in a sin or other difficult situation and we need help but we are too afraid to ask. Until we go to God with our imperfections we will never be able to stop destroying our lives. We need to let God use others to help us so that one day we can help others.

The Bible speaks of the highest form of love…that there is no greater love than when a person lays their life down for another. From the foundation of the world, Jesus was destined to die (to be executed) so that our sins could be erased and forgiven. Because of His great love, we receive our ‘stay of execution.’

God is very serious about our obedience to Him, but He also knows we can’t perfectly obey Him on our own. He gives us the power and the strength to obey Him in every situation, and He transforms our lives from the inside out in the process.

Anyone can set any random goal, but there are specific desires that God Himself can place in our heart that we must continually work towards. The Bible encourages us to constantly be ready to respond and obey when God calls us to something. Working towards the plans that He has set on our lives makes us ready for His calling.

Jesus said that He is the bread from Heaven that gives life and that we must fill ourselves with Him to receive that life. If we hunger and thirst after Him and His righteousness, He promises to fill us up and satisfy us.

Throughout scripture, Jesus is called the King of Kings, Lord of Lords. [He is the ultimate Jefe de Jefes – “boss of bosses”] There is great power there, God’s power and when anyone believes in His name, they have access to it through prayer. The key is knowing that there are opposing forces that will try to prevent us from accessing this power and authority. But as the Bible says…we’re not wrestling against flesh and blood (people).

When we are wrapped up in our sin, the tendency is to hide out of fear and cling to that sin as if it will someday satisfy us. The truth is that God is the only one who can offer us hope in a future that He has lovingly planned, and all He wants us to do is come out of hiding and run into His grace that He freely offers.

In Christ we have all the power and strength we need to withstand temptation and not fall into sin, however we often do not realize that we already have this. With the help of others to teach us about God’s power that is in us, we can begin to win over temptation and sin and live under God’s protection.

No matter what kind of earthly father you have, your Heavenly Father has promised to always love you and keep you as His own. Once you are adopted into His family there is no undoing that. We must obey God so that when people look at us they see our Father in us.
