No Mercy

November 25, 2024

The Bible teaches that God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and freely offering salvation for all those who will believe. While He is all of those things, He also says in His Word that his mercy will come to an end for those who continually hold onto their sin and refuse to repent. The day of judgment will be a terrible one for those people, so the plea remains: repent, believe, and receive His mercy that can change your life from the inside out.

Past Episodes

Our lives change when we are broken over our sin and we experience God’s forgiveness when we repent. Then we need others to help us put the pieces together and show us how it looks to live the Christian life. Because of others helping us, we can get to a place of being able to help others who feel like they are in pieces.

There are all kinds of categories of people that come into a church, but God has called those a part of His Church to be involved with one another and live in community. Knockers are unbelievers seeking for God, and also they are believers continually pursuing God. Rockers are those who live out the Gospel and what Christ has called us to, rocking the world as they go. May we be both.

Being smart is very different than being wise, and as children of God we are instructed to grow in wisdom in order so that we may make wise choices. The more that we seek after wisdom the more we develop the Pop Eye, seeing things through Gods eyes. Wisdom involves knowing what the right thing is to do and acting on that, making good choices to avoid future downfall or mistakes.

There are instances in this world where children, women, and sometimes men are taking beatings on a regular basis. While the Bible instructs us to not retaliate when someone hurts us but rather to respond in service, we also must seek God in each situation. If He tells us to stay and suffer, we must obey and believe He has a plan for it, but if He tells us to go we must go.

Too many people want the benefit of salvation without the Lordship of Christ in their lives. When we submit to Jesus in every way, it is only then that we experience the freedom that He brings us from the sins and entanglements of this world.

One of the greatest way to determine how well our lives are being used by God is by examining the parts of our lives that have been wasted. Instead of falling into temptations of distraction and momentary pleasure, we must run and fight with endurance, staying focused on Jesus to finish this life having used it for His glory.

God provided a way of justice for our sins through Christ’s death on the cross so that we can be brought into perfect peace in relationship with Him. When we have peace with God, we can see past the differences of others and extend peace to them.

The Bible tells us that no matter what we do or how we grow, it all must be rooted in godly love or else it’s meaningless. When God shows us an area of our lives that needs to change, our maturity is deepened when we listen and respond in obedience.

As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit living in us and working through us to fulfill God’s will. When we are prompted to share the Gospel with whoever we are talking to, we need to step out in obedience and do it because we may not know the work that God is doing behind the scenes.

There is nothing in this world, physical or spiritual, that can war against us and overcome us if we are living in the power of the Holy Spirit. God has given us His power to be more than a conqueror for any power that comes against us.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
