What to Do When Your Friends Reject Jesus

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
When I was a young boy, I was out playing in a field behind our house one day and came across a very large ant hill. So I decided to stop and watch for awhile, and I noticed those little ants were working like a city, building their mound and carrying food in and out of the hill.
A few days later, I heard a terrible noise out in that field. I looked outside, and a bulldozer was beginning to turn dirt for a new power station that would be going up. And I thought, “Those ants are going to die and there’s nothing I can do about it.” I could’ve gone out there and spent an hour telling those ants to move, but they wouldn’t have understood one word.
In much the same way, we can preach the Gospel over and over again. But unless God opens the eyes of unbelievers to His truth, all they hear is foolishness. And as strange as it may sound, this should give us a tremendous sense of peace, knowing our job is not to get others to respond to the Gospel—only to share it!
Don’t be discouraged when friends and family don’t respond to the message of Christ. Instead, pray that God would open their eyes and they’d see the Gospel for what it truly is: the power of God!
PRAY FOR YOUR LOST FRIENDS WHO REJECT THE GOSPEL. ASK GOD TO OPEN THEIR EYES SO THAT THEY’D SEE ITS POWERFUL TRUTH!
