What’s your value in God’s eyes?
August 1, 2013
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:10
Awhile back, I was talking to a friend who I could tell was struggling with understanding if God really loved him. So I told him, “If you ever wonder if God really loves you, imagine if someone asked to take your son away, beat him, brutalize him, and murder him. What would you do?”
“Well,” my friend said, “I definitely would stop him. In fact, I’d do just about anything I could to keep that person from ever laying a hand on my son, even if it cost me my own life.”
“That’s right,” I told him. “Now take the intensity of that emotion, multiply it by infinity, and that’s a taste of how much God loves you. He allowed His Son to be taken, beaten, broken, and killed just for you. That’s how great His love is for you!”
This is true for every single person in the world. God loves ____________ (fill in your name) so much that He gave His only Son over to die on the cross. And through that death and resurrection, we have eternal life through faith. Accept that love today, knowing how valued you are in God’s eyes!
GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH THAT HE SENT HIS ONLY SON TO DIE FOR YOU. ACCEPT THAT LOVE TODAY AND RECOGNIZE YOUR IMMENSE VALUE IN GOD’S EYES!
