The word of God commands us to give thanks to him at all times. Now that's easy to remember. It's easy to say but to actually do it sincerely, is sometimes very difficult. Now, we all go through times of troubles and hardships, pain, sorrow misfortune, and no one is exempted from that. If you were to ask me about my problems and troubles, I would tell you this, that the vast majority 99% of the things that I suffer, you know what the causes myself?

We are in the midst of our study of Psalm 119. You all know that this is the longest Psalm in all the Bible. In fact, the longest chapter in any of the biblical books. And what I like about the author of this psalm is his commitment to God. So let's begin by asking ourselves a question. And that is, do I also demonstrate a commitment to God, by the decisions that I make the words that I say, and the actions that I take in my life?

Our God is a God that wants to reward his people. And we saw last week that when we take God's instructions, his words, his precepts, his statutes, his laws, His commandments, and we apply them to our life in faith, there's going to be great benefit for them. But our God is a righteous God, he is a holy God, a God that is just in the fullest sense.

One of the wisest things that a person can do is to agree with God. And because most of the time people rely upon their own understanding, trusting in their own knowledge, they miss out on the truth of God. And let me give you an example. Recently, I was talking to an individual and this is what this person said, as long as I'm in the kingdom of heaven.

I do not know why. But when we talk about Shabbat, there seems to be so much resistance today from those who claim that they are believers in the Messiah of Israel. And what we need to see is that when we study Shabbat, and this is true, whether we do so, from the Old Covenant, or the New Covenant, when we see how especially Messiah, how he taught on Shabbat, how he healed on Shabbat, how he emphasize in the Scripture, the truth of Shabbat relating to the kingdom of God, we need to have respect for the Shabbat.

There are prophetic signs that we are approaching the last days. And the scripture that we're going to be studying together in this lesson has great relevance for you and me, as we approached those last days, one of the things that we need to understand is that God is preparing a people that we are going to be found faithful, as the book of Revelation says that the bride will indeed prepare herself in a way that the groom and of course, we're speaking about the great bride groom, Messiah himself, that he is going to be pleased with his congregation, his bride.

About Dr. Baruch Korman
R. Baruch is the senior lecturer at the Zera Avraham Institute based in Israel. He also appears on the Israeli Television program Pdut L'amo where he teaches each week from the Bible (This program is in Hebrew).

Baruch holds a PhD in Jewish Studies. His dissertation was in the translation techniques of the Septuagint. Baruch has been married for 30 years to his wife, Rivka, and they have three adult children. The Kormans live in Israel.
