We are people who are called to have a testimony. People should see us and how we live and how we speak should have a godly influence on others life. That is why we are here, and when we do that, we will indeed have a life that has significance, a life that has eternal implications to it, that we are going to be people that bring about an eternal change in the life of others, that we will influence them To walk in truth that they would be committed to the God of Israel, that they will receive the savior of Israel, or Messiah, Yeshua, so that they too have that kingdom hope.

We need to make sure that the priorities of our life are God's priorities for us, whenever we submit, whenever we are listening to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, we make wise decisions and we do the things that are going to be well pleasing to our God. We are going to begin a study of the Book of Amos. And we know that this man, also called in English, Amos. He was a prophet of the Lord that prophesied both regarding the southern kingdom Judah and also the northern kingdom called Israel. And he wanted to bring about a change in the kingdom of God.

Are individuals that are called to be unique. Let me say that differently, we are called to be different, as we see in the New Covenant, according to Peter, we are called to be a peculiar people, and that really means that we are called to be treasured by God. And what we should ask ourselves is this, what is it about our behavior?

If you do not perceive the Word of God correctly, you will behave foolishly. And we see a good example of this today. Take out your Bibles and look with me to the Gospel of Luke and chapter 22 the Gospel of Luke and chapter 22 now we began this chapter two weeks ago, and we saw that the emphasis was Passover. And we learn from the teachings of Messiah that Passover revolves around death. Passover comes there's going to be death at each house.

The first thing I want to do this morning is to share with you the theme of this conference. It is the power of the cross. Now that word power in the biblical language also relates to authority, meaning that the cross has power to bring change into your life, a change that you desperately need, because without that change, you are without hope. Now the cross took place on not just any day, but if you read the Bible carefully, we find that his crucifixion took place on Passover.

Well, we have arrived at the last psalm, Psalm, 150 and it has been a long journey through this book, but hopefully it's been a spiritually profitable journey through the book of Psalms. I know for me, God has taught me many things as I studied this book of Psalms. We began it in the summer of 2020 at the height of the corona time, and now we have passed through that God is faithful, and we are now approaching another chapter in our lives. What is God going to do in the near future? How is God going to bring things into his order?

Are individuals that are known by our relationship with God, and that relationship is established through a covenant. And when we examine that word, covenant Brit, we find that it is derived from a word that speaks of purity. So when we enter into a covenantal relationship with God through faith, through the sufficiency of the cross, we are going to see that God begins to work in our life in order to purify our life. Now, why does he do that?

The Bible makes it very clear that Yeshua died upon that cross on Passover. And biblically from the Book of Leviticus, chapter 23 we know something Passover, known also as the preparation day, is the 14th day of the first month on the Biblical calendar. Now you may not know this, but there is a tradition in Judaism, and that tradition is tied to the Scripture. We know that the children of Israel were brought out of Egypt with that mixed multitude, because God struck Egypt. And what did he strike them with the plague of the firstborn?

About Dr. Baruch Korman
R. Baruch is the senior lecturer at the Zera Avraham Institute based in Israel. He also appears on the Israeli Television program Pdut L'amo where he teaches each week from the Bible (This program is in Hebrew).
A similar Bible Study program in English is broadcast on numerous television networks across the United States, Europe, and Africa. Many of his lectures are available in the forms of video, audio and written on Pdut.org (Hebrew) and LoveIsrael.org (English).
Baruch holds a PhD in Jewish Studies. His dissertation was in the translation techniques of the Septuagint. Baruch has been married for 30 years to his wife, Rivka, and they have three adult children. The Kormans live in Israel.
