Called to be a people that demonstrate not only righteousness but the wisdom of God, utilizing the truth of God so that we might live in a very different way than the rest of the world, that people might see our good works and we're called to do good works, and that they might glorify our Father, which is in heaven, that they might understand that any good thing that we do does not originate with ourselves, but originate with this holy, perfect, righteous and true God, take out your Bibles and look with me to the book of Proverbs in chapter 25.

Now in the Scripture, there is a word. Many times we find that Bibles translate this word as a servant, but when we get to the heart of that word, it means a slave, someone who is absolutely in bondage to another. And the point that we need to see concerning our identity in the Messiah is that we become slaves of God.

Resurrection is a very important concept. In the Scripture, the Bible speaks frequently of the resurrection of the dead. And what you and I need to understand is this. Every time that the Bible speaks of the resurrection, it gives that passage of Scripture, a specific context. And what is that contexts the kingdom of God, meaning simply, there is an inherent relationship between resurrection and the kingdom of God.

We indeed want to be people that choose wisely, that look at the very situations that we find ourselves encountering, and that we make wise and God pleasing decisions. And let me share with you that the book of Proverbs, what we have been studying for several months now, is a great book to give us insight and understanding, to give us knowledge and wisdom, so that we can exercise discernment and chooses the things that are pleasing to our Heavenly Father, because, as we talked about in our call to worship, yes, we have a body and we have resources, and we want to bring everything under God's submissive will.

We are all guilty of making poor decisions. And sometimes we say to ourselves, what were we thinking? Why did I do such a foolish thing? And the answer is this. You have been deceived. And one of the things that we're going to learn in the passage of scripture that we're going to study today is that if we think in a specific way, it lessens the likelihood that we will be deceived by the enemy. And what does that weigh?

There is poor theology and false teaching within the church today, especially in regard to Israel. There are many churches that believe that it is proper and godly to support the establishment of a Palestinian state. But when we look at the scripture, God commands us to watch the fig tree.

As believers and followers in our Messiah, we have a glorious future. Now I want to use a word, and that word is end. We will end well in this world. In fact, we will exit this world in the end, and we will enter into the kingdom of God, which has no conclusion, no end, and it's a place of glory. It's a place where we will receive and benefit from the promises of God and the blessings of God.

Our subject today is authority. And it is vital if you're going to have a pleasing testimony to God, that you demonstrate that you are under his authority, which means everything that you do, every thought that you have, every word that you speak, you do all of these things, recognizing his authority over you. And when you do so, you are going to have a life that is pleasing to Him.

If God allows you in a difficult circumstance, He will not forsake you. He will not leave you. And what he allows you to go through and here again, it doesn't mean that he's the cause of it, but if he's allowing you to experience this difficulty, there is a purpose for it, and that purpose is preparation for something that's in the future, something that God wants to teach you now through these difficulties, so that you're better prepared for what you will encounter in the future, that you will learn something that you will Understand, something that you will have greater knowledge and wisdom.

About Dr. Baruch Korman
R. Baruch is the senior lecturer at the Zera Avraham Institute based in Israel. He also appears on the Israeli Television program Pdut L'amo where he teaches each week from the Bible (This program is in Hebrew).
A similar Bible Study program in English is broadcast on numerous television networks across the United States, Europe, and Africa. Many of his lectures are available in the forms of video, audio and written on Pdut.org (Hebrew) and LoveIsrael.org (English).
Baruch holds a PhD in Jewish Studies. His dissertation was in the translation techniques of the Septuagint. Baruch has been married for 30 years to his wife, Rivka, and they have three adult children. The Kormans live in Israel.
