We see that God has called us to be different than he calls us not only to a covenantal relationship with him, but to take hold of his truth, to walk in wisdom and understanding and morality and justice and ethics that we might have a powerful testimony and realize a simple principle. And that is there are real outcomes, real consequences and implications for the decisions we make. Even as believers, our faith and Messiah does not shield us from poor decision making.

We know that God has given us the ability through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, His indwelling in us, to serve Him and to do so perfectly. And whenever we fail in that it is not God's fault. It is not a problem with his provision. But rather, it's our own disobedience. It's when we listen to that old man, rather than embracing that new man that we are in Messiah.

Well, we are in the midst of our discussion about after death. What happens to a person when they die. And we're studying a historical account from the Gospel of Luke and chapter 16. As I said, last week, when we began this passage, there is no indication whatsoever from the biblical texts, that this should be viewed as a parable. In fact, I made mention that such a view is insulting.

We are now ready for Psalm 131. And if I was asked to entitle this Psalm, I would say that it is a modest sum. And I mean that from two aspects. First of all, it is as we'll see, in a moment, one of the psalms of a sense, and going up specifically to Jerusalem for the purpose of worship, I think we would all agree and we're going to learn from this psalm, that we should be modest people, humble people, as we approach God to worship him.
