As I said, Tonight, we're going to begin a new book of study sefer Mishlei, the book of Proverbs, and we know who the author is, we'll see that at the beginning of verse one. It's none other than King Shlomo, that is King Solomon. And the objective of this book is to impart wisdom, knowledge and understanding, in order that we can see truth, what's truth, God's will, God's revelation, and utilize that, for his purposes to be accomplished by us understand, there is nothing more gratifying nothing that is going to bring greater joy into your life, that when you fulfill the purposes of God, and God is so good, that he allows us to do that potentially, every day.

The passage that we're going to study today involves a demon. And the question that I was asked this week through an email was do I believe in the reality of demons? And how did I answer that question? I simply said, Does the Bible speak of demons? And the answer is, obviously it does. Therefore, if the Bible teaches something, as a believer, and this is true for every follower of yours, sure, we are obligated to accept this book and its content as the truth given to us by God.

Do you have a submissive spirit? See, we need to understand that God, He has loved us perfectly. God needs nothing. God never lacks. God never has a bad day. God never needs anything from us. And that has significant implications. Because everything that God commands us to do, it is for us, it has to be a blessing to someone else.

Are you praying effectively? What does that mean? Are you praying as the word of God teaches a disciple to pray? The fact of the matter is that most believers are not. And why is that? Well, most people pray this way. I have a problem. And I want God to solve it. I have a need. And I want God to meet that need, or I have a desire and a want. And I want God to give it.

Now we all have a set of priorities for life. And my question to you as we begin this study is this. Where does prayer appear? And that list of your priorities, it ought to be at the top of the list. What the Word of God reveals to us is this. We can do nothing that's pleasing to God, in our own strength.

We are commanded in the New Covenant, to render our life turn it over unto God as a living sacrifice with one desire, and that is to be well pleasing to Him. Now, the reason why I selected that portion of Scripture is that it gives us a new covenant perspective for understanding what is going to be discussed here in Leviticus chapter 27.

In this study, I like to share with you a portion from the book of Luke, that has really impacted my life. It has taught me how to make wise decisions, and most people are the same, left to ourselves without God's revelation. Without the Holy Spirit leading you, you will certainly make poor decisions and realize that there is an enemy, that he wants you to make poor decisions.

The word of God commands us to give thanks to him at all times. Now that's easy to remember. It's easy to say but to actually do it sincerely, is sometimes very difficult. Now, we all go through times of troubles and hardships, pain, sorrow misfortune, and no one is exempted from that. If you were to ask me about my problems and troubles, I would tell you this, that the vast majority 99% of the things that I suffer, you know what the causes myself?

We have learned that our God is faithful. And we need to see his faithfulness, being displayed in one of two ways. And that that depends upon us, if we are obedient, and the power of God in our life, who the Holy Spirit leads us, he is called the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit. And therefore he leads us in truth and truth submits to the will of God.

About Dr. Baruch Korman
R. Baruch is the senior lecturer at the Zera Avraham Institute based in Israel. He also appears on the Israeli Television program Pdut L'amo where he teaches each week from the Bible (This program is in Hebrew).
A similar Bible Study program in English is broadcast on numerous television networks across the United States, Europe, and Africa. Many of his lectures are available in the forms of video, audio and written on Pdut.org (Hebrew) and LoveIsrael.org (English).
Baruch holds a PhD in Jewish Studies. His dissertation was in the translation techniques of the Septuagint. Baruch has been married for 30 years to his wife, Rivka, and they have three adult children. The Kormans live in Israel.
