But controversy should not be something that influences us some, like controversy because people will be more inclined to watch. Others want to stay away from it. An unusual Psalm today to get your Bible and look with me to Psalm 109. Now it is an unusual Psalm, because the words here are most harsh. The author is King David. David loved the Lord. He loved serving God, and he loved the righteous ways of God. David was an individual that knew mercy and grace and loving kindness, David was able to forgive.

As you know, we have been studying this concept of leprosy. And we've made mention that leprosy in the Bible is a unique disease, its origin is God a punishment from him, that stems from those who behave pridefully and those who speak unkindly in regard to others in a public way.

Do you make a lot of mistakes, do things incorrectly? I do. And I know I do. Because my family is so quick to tell me this. And why do I do things wrong and incorrectly. Because I rely upon my own understanding. I make decisions. From my own perspective, this is the wrong thing to do. We need to make decisions based upon the truth of Scripture.

We are in the midst of a several part study dealing with leprosy. And we have seen that there's leprosy of the skin, leprosy of the the hair, or the beard. And there's also leprosy that we'll encounter later on, in regard to buildings and houses and such. But now we're in the midst of a study where we're dealing with one who was a leper, he has been cleansed, and now he's going through a purification.

In order to experience salvation, you have to know the Messiah, and not just his name, Yeshua, or Jesus. But you need to know the biblical identity of Messiah, that He is Emmanuel, God with us. If you reject the Incarnation, that God became flesh, if you reject that, you don't know the biblical Messiah, and therefore, you have not been saved.

It is a wise thing to praise God. But someone might ask the legitimate question, why should I praise God. And the Scripture reveals to us three reasons why we should worship God, praise God and to do it sincerely. The first reason is because of who he is, he is the Lord God Almighty. And because of who he is, he is worthy of praise. Secondly, because of what he has already done, God has done many wondrous things for his people for this creation.

About Dr. Baruch Korman
R. Baruch is the senior lecturer at the Zera Avraham Institute based in Israel. He also appears on the Israeli Television program Pdut L'amo where he teaches each week from the Bible (This program is in Hebrew).
A similar Bible Study program in English is broadcast on numerous television networks across the United States, Europe, and Africa. Many of his lectures are available in the forms of video, audio and written on Pdut.org (Hebrew) and LoveIsrael.org (English).
Baruch holds a PhD in Jewish Studies. His dissertation was in the translation techniques of the Septuagint. Baruch has been married for 30 years to his wife, Rivka, and they have three adult children. The Kormans live in Israel.
