Our subject today is authority. And it is vital if you're going to have a pleasing testimony to God, that you demonstrate that you are under his authority, which means everything that you do, every thought that you have, every word that you speak, you do all of these things, recognizing his authority over you. And when you do so, you are going to have a life that is pleasing to Him.

If God allows you in a difficult circumstance, He will not forsake you. He will not leave you. And what he allows you to go through and here again, it doesn't mean that he's the cause of it, but if he's allowing you to experience this difficulty, there is a purpose for it, and that purpose is preparation for something that's in the future, something that God wants to teach you now through these difficulties, so that you're better prepared for what you will encounter in the future, that you will learn something that you will Understand, something that you will have greater knowledge and wisdom.

We are called to be individuals that live according to the knowledge of God, and God's knowledge, his wisdom, His truth, is practical. And what I mean by that is this, it impacts our life so that we can live in a way that is going to be a blessing to others. That's why we were saved, that we could have influence over others for the will of God, not for what we want, not for what we desire, but what is pleasing in regard to God's will.

It is important that we understand God's timing. And the only way to understand God's timetable is to be prophetically literate. And that means we must study prophecy. And unfortunately, today, there is great ignorance in regard to the message of the prophets of the Old Testament. And because we don't understand prophecy, we really can't understand what is taking place.

If you were to ask me, What has God placed upon my heart that He desires for me to share with individuals, it would be get ready to suffer a massive time of persecution of believers is about to happen. Now, when I say is about to happen, I don't know if that's a year from now, five years, 10 years, but in the future, and not so distant future, we will see a massive change in this world.

You we need to realize that we are called to behave differently, that we are called to take biblical truth and apply it to our life, that we have a testimony, that we bear witness to the standards of God, and in doing so, we begin to manifest the character of God, because He has redeemed us. He has given us His Spirit in order that we might demonstrate God's order in our life, in everything that we think, every word that we speak and every action we take, Lord, we want to be individuals that live with discernment, that make wise decisions, that reveal to others that we belong to the living God, the God of Israel.

We are about to look at a passage of scripture with great significance. And I'm talking about that portion of the Bible that deals with messiahs entry into Jerusalem shortly before his death, burial, and resurrection. And that entry is commonly referred to as the triumphant entry. And here's what we need to understand that triumphant entry took place shortly before Passover. I've shared with you many times before that Passover is the festival of redemption.

The psalm that we're going to study, Psalm 139 is a very difficult Psalm for a variety of reasons. First of all, there are some theological issues that can be quite confusing. Secondly, the language of this psalm is not typical Biblical Hebrew. There are many words that are unusual, so it requires a great deal of preparation.

About Dr. Baruch Korman
R. Baruch is the senior lecturer at the Zera Avraham Institute based in Israel. He also appears on the Israeli Television program Pdut L'amo where he teaches each week from the Bible (This program is in Hebrew).
A similar Bible Study program in English is broadcast on numerous television networks across the United States, Europe, and Africa. Many of his lectures are available in the forms of video, audio and written on Pdut.org (Hebrew) and LoveIsrael.org (English).
Baruch holds a PhD in Jewish Studies. His dissertation was in the translation techniques of the Septuagint. Baruch has been married for 30 years to his wife, Rivka, and they have three adult children. The Kormans live in Israel.
