Well, we are in the midst of our discussion about after death. What happens to a person when they die. And we're studying a historical account from the Gospel of Luke and chapter 16. As I said, last week, when we began this passage, there is no indication whatsoever from the biblical texts, that this should be viewed as a parable. In fact, I made mention that such a view is insulting.

If you are in a covenantal relationship with God, especially that new covenant relationship, through faith in that gospel message, then God has promised never to leave you never to forsake you. And God is listening to your prayers. In other words, there are great benefits from being in a new covenant or relationship with God. God hears your prayers.

We need to realize that as the people of God, we are satisfied satisfied in our relationship with Him. Paul speaks about this when he speaks about contentment. When he says I've known the secret of being content in all circumstances, he does not allow the physical to overshadow the spiritual truth, the reality that the word of God promises.

What we're going to be learning together in this study is of great importance. Why is that? Because it relates to the kingdom and not just that it relates and teaches us how to have a kingdom perspective. In other words, how to see things as God sees them. We need to have the lenses of the kingdom so that we agree with God because it's only in agreement with God, are we going to make good decisions, decisions which please him and leads us into the way of righteousness?

When you serve God, you may be persecuted. When you are faithful to Him committed to his purposes, it doesn't mean that everything's going to go well in your life. In fact, as we move closer to the end times, and we are, the more faithful, the more righteous, the more humble. And the more you are committed to the will of God, you will be persecuted, you will suffer more, we are going to be entering into a time where faithfulness is going to be punished by this world.

We are called indeed to be servants. And to serve God, we need wisdom. We need knowledge, not the knowledge of the world, but the knowledge of the Word of God. When we understand scriptural truth, it changes us. It gives us God's perspective. It understands us, it helps us to understand his purposes, so that we can participate in the things of God. And that's where we find joy. That's where we find contentment. That's when we find power.

Recently I was asked, What should I be praying for. And the way I responded to this in the visual was as follows. Pray that the Lord might teach you how to demonstrate the fear of the Lord. Now I've shared with you many times, the fear of the Lord relates to taking the priorities of God, and making them sincerely the priorities of your life.
