Maybe you’ve noticed, our world today so often presents sin in a glamorous light. It’s made to look attractive and often trivialized. But we receive a far different picture in God’s Word. In Genesis chapter four we find the truth about sin and what it leads to.

Today pastor James Kaddis resumes his series in Revelation, as we conclude our look at the Lord’s letter to the church in Pergamum. This particular church was like many churches today. What started as a small drip of false teaching has turned into a flood of deceit. They were compromising. The solution to this problem hasn’t changed over the last two thousand years.

Pastor James Kaddis will be covering Genesis chapter two in our time together. Unless you’ve been given the gift of singleness, you have a need within you for a helper or partner. God recognized this early on, and provided! We’ll learn today, in general, it’s not good for us to be alone. And we can simply wait on the Lord for Him to bring someone into our life, at just the right time.

Last time we completed James’ look at the Lord’s letter to Smyrna, in Revelation chapter two. It was a letter of encouragement and praise. Today, as we begin a study of the letter to Pergamum, we see a very different tone from the Lord. Pergamum had fallen into the hands of false teaching. They were compromising. The Lord’s response? Repent!

There’s a whole other world under the sea… from fish to dolphins and whales, and beautiful corral too! God thought it all up, and created it. We’ll spend some time considering this, and how He created light as well, today on Light on the Hill.

About James Kaddis
Pastor James Kaddis is the founding and Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Signal Hill in Signal Hill, CA. By the grace of God, Pastor James has been serving in the ministry for over 27 years. Since 1996, he has also served as a police chaplain. Pastor James has a background in the area of theology, network engineering, computer forensics, and law. He previously served as an Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Downey and the Dean of the Calvary Chapel Bible College, Downey Extension. He is also considered an expert in the field of Computer Networking and Security, and has extensive experience working in that field with both law enforcement and other types of professional organizations.
Pastor James represents the first generation in his family to be born in the United States to parents that were both born and raised in Egypt, and was raised with Arabic as a second language in his home. This background has been used by the LORD to give James a love for biblical languages. In April of 2016, Pastor James married his beautiful wife Nicole, and is overwhelmed by the privilege to serve the LORD by her side! Pastor James’ teaching ministry spans across the nation through the “Light on the Hill” radio ministry.
