Time is Almost Up Part 2

The Lord told us through His Word that in the last days there will be scoffers. They’ll mock and ridicule the idea of Jesus returning and of a coming judgment. It’s not hard to see that around us is it? Today on Light on the Hill pastor James Kaddis will point this out to us and remind us that Time is Almost Up. So how should we be living in light of that? Join us in Second Peter three for this enlightening study for these last days.

The Apostle Peter said, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” If that’s true, and it is, then time is going by faster than we think and we need to start living as though we believe that. Many will scoff and mock saying that God’s promises and warnings will never happen, but we know God’s track record and that means more than ever we need to pay attention. God will never tolerate sin, and as a result He must judge it! The Lord particularly despises men who choose to transgress with a blatant disregard for righteousness. He says they behave as animals and will suffer a fate far worse. Why was this particularly important for Peter to speak about? We'll find out today.

God’s judgement is coming, that we can be sure of, because God never lies and He told us it will happen. Hebrews chapter six has long been turned to by people as they wrestle with the doctrine of eternal security. Can you lose your salvation they wonder? As you know many discussions have centered around that question. But pastor James Kaddis will point out many have really missed the point of the chapter. He’ll show us that when you really understand how salvation works, and the Hebrew mindset at that time, it really takes you in a whole different direction.

You can be sure of this, the coming judgement of God is not only real, it is undoubtedly imminent! As believers in Christ, we can find comfort in knowing that such a judgement is not reserved for us. But it also should encourage us to warn the unbeliever of what’s to come.
