As you look around, mankind continues to sink to new lows. The depravity, the moral decline… it leads us to shake our heads. And as we’ll learn today on Light on the Hill this sort of confusion is what happens when a people take their eyes off of God and choose to rebel. Pastor James Kaddis opens Genesis chapter eleven now and spotlights the rebellion that took place at the tower of Babel.

The great thing about this study is we’re really getting specific instruction on what the Lord likes to see and doesn’t like to see in a local church. Today in His letter to the church at Thyatira Jesus confronts the unbiblical tolerance of false teaching and spiritual adultery.

Noah, his family, and the animals have been cooped up in the ark for just over a year. The rain has stopped, the waters are reseeding, and it’s time to step out on dry land.

We are currently studying about the days of Noah and the Judgment of God by the flood. As we begin our study of Genesis chapter eight, pastor James will key in on the phrase, “God remembered Noah!” It gives us an idea of how God looks at us and His level of care for us.

Pastor James Kaddis is in a study of Genesis, and we’re in chapter seven today, recalling a time when God judged mankind through a worldwide flood. While some suggest this is a myth, the reality is it actually happened. And there’s evidence to support that claim. But there’s also some practical lessons to be drawn from this story like, God will protect His people, and there’s good reason to trust Him and obey.

About James Kaddis
Pastor James Kaddis is the founding and Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Signal Hill in Signal Hill, CA. By the grace of God, Pastor James has been serving in the ministry for over 27 years. Since 1996, he has also served as a police chaplain. Pastor James has a background in the area of theology, network engineering, computer forensics, and law. He previously served as an Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Downey and the Dean of the Calvary Chapel Bible College, Downey Extension. He is also considered an expert in the field of Computer Networking and Security, and has extensive experience working in that field with both law enforcement and other types of professional organizations.
Pastor James represents the first generation in his family to be born in the United States to parents that were both born and raised in Egypt, and was raised with Arabic as a second language in his home. This background has been used by the LORD to give James a love for biblical languages. In April of 2016, Pastor James married his beautiful wife Nicole, and is overwhelmed by the privilege to serve the LORD by her side! Pastor James’ teaching ministry spans across the nation through the “Light on the Hill” radio ministry.
