The Table of Nations Part 1

August 6, 2021

"Be fruitful and multiply," you may recall that directive from God back in Genesis chapter one.  But He’s going to say the very same thing to Noah and his sons, following the flood.  Pastor James believes there’s an important message for us to receive from it as well.

Past Episodes

We’ve been studying about the days of Noah and the time leading up to the Judgment of God.  We’ll be covering Genesis chapter eight during today’s program.  Noah, his family, and the animals have been cooped up in the ark for just over a year. The rain has stopped, the waters are reseeding, and it’s time to step out on dry land.

We are currently studying about the days of Noah and the Judgment of God by the flood.  As we begin our study of Genesis chapter eight, pastor James will key in on the phrase, “God remembered Noah!”   It gives us an idea of how God looks at us and His level of care for us.

Pastor James Kaddis is in a study of Genesis, and we’re in chapter seven today, recalling a time when God judged mankind through a worldwide flood.  While some suggest this is a myth, the reality is it actually happened.  And there’s evidence to support that claim.  But there’s also some practical lessons to be drawn from this story like, God will protect His people, and there’s good reason to trust Him and obey.

A worldwide flood, to some that seems impossible!  But as we’ll learn today, the biblical account can be supported by science.  Let’s see together how God judged the earth by a flood and protected a righteous family as He did.

Pastor James Kaddis’ study on the letters to the seven churches in Revelation continues today with letter number four - the letter to Thyatira.  Like several other churches, The Lord has something good to say.  They were loving, faithful, growing and serving, among other things.  But there was something terrible going on in this church too.

As the return of the Lord draws near, we can expect wickedness to increase.  But like the man we’ll meet today, we can and must take a stand for righteousness. As we do, God will be pleased and He’ll extend grace onto our lives.  Today on Light on the Hill we’ll be encouraged as we look at Noah, who model this for us beautifully.

It seems like every time you turn on the news, you’re reminded that we live in a dark and wicked world.  Evil behavior is on the increase and even celebrated.  Not unlike a time we’ll read about in Genesis chapter six.  Today on Light on the Hill that’s where we’ll join pastor James Kaddis, and discover this really grieved the heart of God.  He would end up judging the world through a flood.

Wouldn’t you like to live a life of purpose and significance?  You can.  And the key to unlock that door is to walk faithfully with God, just as Enoch did so long ago.  Today on Light on the Hill we’ll derive much needed encouragement from Genesis chapter five.

If you’ve ever read through the genealogies in the Bible you might have just glossed right over it, thinking this is just a list of names and how does that apply to me!  Join us today on Light on the Hill and you’ll discover they are very significant.

Maybe you’ve noticed, our world today so often presents sin in a glamorous light.  It’s made to look attractive and often trivialized.  But we receive a far different picture in God’s Word.  In Genesis chapter four we find the truth about sin and what it leads to.
