In the Volume of the Book Part 18b

We’re at the tail-end of a 20 part series called, “In the Volume of the Book.” James is drawing our attention to the prophecy contained in each book of the Bible, and today it’s First and Second Peter. We’ll observe some promises that be unsettling to some, but very encouraging to others. Like the end is near!

When we come to realize the world and universe around us will be destroyed one day, and replaced with a new heaven and new earth, it really should impact our lives in more ways than one. Today on Light on the Hill we join pastor James Kaddis in Second Peter chapter three and see how Bible prophecy can have a tremendous affect on us as we receive and believe it.

As this world goes from bad to worse, Christians long for Jesus to return! And at times we may even question, why He hasn’t! Why doesn’t He just judge this world and put an end to it? Today on Light on the Hill we’ll hear of God’s heart for people to be saved. What we sometimes fail to realize is what we call a delay is actually Him being gracious and merciful to a Christ-rejecting world.

Psalm 40:7 says, “Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me.” The word of God points us to Him and we believe your life will be transformed as you study along with pastor James Kaddis.

The Lord told us through His Word that in the last days there will be scoffers. They’ll mock and ridicule the idea of Jesus returning and of a coming judgment. It’s not hard to see that around us is it? Today on Light on the Hill pastor James Kaddis will point this out to us and remind us that Time is Almost Up. So how should we be living in light of that? Join us in Second Peter three for this enlightening study for these last days.

The Apostle Peter said, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” If that’s true, and it is, then time is going by faster than we think and we need to start living as though we believe that. Many will scoff and mock saying that God’s promises and warnings will never happen, but we know God’s track record and that means more than ever we need to pay attention. Pastor James will talk about this and more today.

God will never tolerate sin, and as a result He must judge it! The Lord particularly despises men who choose to transgress with a blatant disregard for righteousness. He says they behave as animals and will suffer a fate far worse. Why was this particularly important for Peter to speak about? We'll find out today.

Today pastor James resumes his verse by verse study of Second Peter. In chapter two we’ll see what happens when men and women rebel against God and ignore His commands, as well as what divine retribution looks like.
