Life Changing Words pt. 1

In Luke chapter 4, verses 22 and 23, we read that “…gracious words proceeded out of the mouth of Jesus.” The Greek word for gracious is Charis, and it’s the only time in the bible that “grace” is used to describe words. Are our words seasoned with grace, displaying love, being courteous and kindness? Today, 7 principles of positive words.

It could be the persistent walking away from God or rebelling against what He said in His word, but either way the first step begins by confessing so that God can do the forgiving. The unpardonable sin? The sin we won’t confess.

Consider the riches of the world, where an ancient vase, rug or painting can sell in the millions. Some would sing the praises of such good fortune. But we have a Savior who sings over us. How valuable is that? Our worth has but one price tag, that our Savior Jesus Christ took it all to the cross for us, hanging there all of our sin all of our iniquity.

But one thing is clear, we are never left alone to wallow in our sin, God continues to speak to us through our helper, the Holy Spirit. And if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us.

What does it mean to submit to God? The first step is to make His will your will. In this study of James chapter 4 we learn that before we ever come before God to confess a single sin, God is already working in our lives. We cannot overcome by sheer will power, we overcome by God’s power. The question then becomes, why not submit to God when all He wants is what’s best for us?

Continued prayer provides us grace and strength to face what we need to face. It also teaches us to be persistent in prayer. As well, the bible is very clear on the power of intercessory prayer. As we pray, we are placing our confidence in God and that prayer opens up new avenues, new vistas, where He can do more than He would have done otherwise. Why? Because God is limited by the free will and choices of mankind. But when we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
