Healing Through Psalm 23

We live in a broken world with full of challenges, failures, and disappointments. As life continues, many unknowns lie before us that can weigh us down, inflicting wounds that often get buried or ignored. We have been created to thrive in our relationships with God, our family, our neighbors and ourselves. By knowing that God is our Good Shepherd, understanding the identity that we have as his precious sheep, we can find rest and healing in our souls.

Joel Chernoff is perhaps best known as one of the pioneers of Messianic Jewish music. For 20 years he was lead singer and songwriter for the music group LAMB. It is through the music ministry of Lamb that Messianic music gained a wide international audience. Lamb, whose recordings have sold over 600,000 copies, has produced 14 Messianic Jewish recordings many of which have reached “Top 10” status on the contemporary religious charts. He has also recently recorded and released two new solo national recordings from Galilee of the Nations entitled, “The Restoration of Israel” and “Come Dance With Me.” His most recent release, also from Galilee of the Nations and distributed by Integrity Music in 2005 is a new Lamb recording titled “The Sacrifice.” Besides music, Joel has a lifelong passion and commitment to prophetic ministry and work of Messianic Judaism. Simplky put, the Messianic Jewish movement’s objective is the prophetic physical and spiritual restoration of Israel. Messianic Judaism is a worldwide revival of Jewish people who have returned to and embraced Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah. Since 1967, the Messianic Jewish movement is the fastest growing stream of Jewish religious life in the world today. Visit Joel's Website to check out his music! Follow Joel on Facebook!

If you’re struggling, it’s okay to share your feelings. If you have suicide thoughts or thoughts of self-harm please dial the suicide prevention lifeline at 988. Over 703,000 people die to suicide every year, and in the US, white males account for 68.46% of all suicide death. Yet, men account for less than 50% of suicide attempts. The data is concerning, confusing and critical to anyone seeking to share God’s love with a broken world. Dr. Gregg Elliott is an Associate Professor of Counseling and expert in explaining the role of mental health in suicide as well as educating others how they can play a role in its prevention. With World Suicide Prevention Day coming up on September 10, Dr. Elliott is available to speak on this essential topic. Dr. Gregg Elliott is an Associate Professor at Colorado Christian University, where he was the 2021 Outstanding Faculty of the Year for the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences. He was the 2023 – 24 Chair of the American Counseling Association Western Region, and he is the Treasurer and a past president of the Colorado Counseling Association. He has been active in legislative advocacy and in working with the American Counseling Association on development of the Interstate Compact for counselor licensure in Colorado and other states. Dr. Elliott has been a licensed professional counselor in the state of Colorado since 2006. He is dually-licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa. His clinical experiences include directing a university counseling center, working in a partial hospitalization program for severely mentally ill adults, working in an inpatient hospital setting with adults and adolescents, and working with at-risk youth and families. His clinical specialization has been in working with suicidal clients. Dr. Elliott also maintains a small clinical supervision practice for counselors working to obtain their post-graduate supervised hours for licensure.

Rick Manning is president of Americans for Limited Government. https://getliberty.org/ How we fightAmericans for Limited Government achieves its vision by fighting to reduce the size and scope of government, protecting individuals rights, promoting federalism, and rolling back the tyranny of the administrative state. This will put America first, foster free enterprise, and restore the rule of law. We are leaders in identifying and exposing unique issues from the limited government perspective, and working with Congress and state legislatures to prevent the continued expansion of government. This aggressive, non-partisan approach to the threats posed by an ever expanding government to our basic freedoms gives us the ability to honestly present the limited government perspective both inside the beltway and most importantly around the country. We focus on fiscal responsibility, regulatory reform, transparency and shedding light on overlooked issues that impact people’s lives. As a principled and independent organization, we hold both sides of the aisle accountable. Although Americans for Limited Government is modest in size, it punches above its weight. Its influence can be seen in numerous pieces of legislation and its broad media coverage.
