We're glad you could be with us for Hope from the Word. As we continue our through-the-Bible series with Pastor Bill Luebkemann, we'll meet in Luke chapter fourteen. This particular chapter deals with something we still see today: legalism. The Pharisees thought they were pleasing God by following many rules and traditions. They appeared pious on the outside, but their hearts were far from Him. Jesus exposed their pride and sin. We need to be careful that we're following the heart of God, and not just man-made rules. Here's Pastor Bill with our study.

There is a story of a man who endured all the horrors of a Soviet prison camp. One day he was praying with his eyes closed when a fellow prisoner noticed him and said with ridicule, "Prayers won't help you get out of here any faster." Opening his eyes, he answered, "I do not pray to get out of prison but to do the will of God." Welcome once again to Hope From the Word with Bill Luebkemann. As we continue our journey through the Bible, Pastor Bill has us consider Luke chapter eleven and a section of scripture often referred to as the Lord's Prayer. The Lord's Prayer helps us to see the purpose of prayer and what sort of things we should pray for. Let's look at it now and learn from the words of Jesus.

Bill Luebkemann is the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Marlton, NJ. The Lord called Bill to lead Calvary Chapel of Marlton in 1997 and since then he has faithfully served as senior pastor as well as overseeing Joyful Noise Christian School, an outreach ministry of the church.
Calvary Chapel of Marlton is also home to the Hope FM radio network. In 1995, Pastor Chuck Smith exhorted pastors to prayerfully consider radio as an effective tool for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Bill Luebkemann heard that message and caught the vision. Hope FM went on the air in November of 2005 and has continued to grow into a network of stations and translators reaching across South Jersey, Eastern and Central Pennsylvania and south into Baltimore, Maryland.
Bill and his wife Lynn have been married for over 40 years and have three adult children and two grandbunnies.
