. Professional wrestling has cranked out quite a few oversized heroes in our time. From the all-time favorite Andre the Giant to men like Hulk Hogan and more recently The Rock who has been featured in many movies since his wrestling days. Well, these guys are pretty big and most likely you wouldn't want to find yourself in the ring with them. There was a man however who could likely take on the whole wrestling federation and come out on top. The man was Sampson; here is his story from Judges chapter thirteen...

We've all had bad dreams. The worst are the kind that make you wake up in a cold sweat, thankful to be back in the real world. Well, in Judges chapter seven, Gideon found himself in a nightmare facing insurmountable odds. But he wasn't sleeping and neither was God. Here's Pastor Bill to tell you how God took control of this particular nightmare.

God loves to demonstrate His glory and that is a very good thing for us. It helps us to realize our complete dependence on His sovereignty and helps us to rest, knowing He is in control. Today, we're going to look at one amazing example of God's power and glory. We see it in the life of one of the judges of Israel. He is a man named Gideon. God called him to defeat an entire army with only a handful of men. Here's Pastor Bill Luebkemann to bring us the Word from Judges chapter six.

There are plenty of worthwhile things in this life. Some seek a life well lived or devote themselves to their family. Those are noble causes. Some live lives of self-sacrifice like Mother Theresa. But there is only one cause that has lasting worth. That is a life devoted to the Lord. Here in Joshua 24, we see Joshua talking about that very thing, reminding the people of God's faithfulness and goodness. Here is Pastor Bill with the conclusion of our study in Joshua chapter twenty-four...

Most parents desire to leave their children better off than they were. Some care about leaving money and things to their kids but some care more about leaving a spiritual legacy. Every God-fearing father or mother should want their children to walk more closely with the Lord than they did themselves. Well, similarly, Joshua is getting close to his death here in chapter twenty-four and we see him passing on wisdom to the people God had appointed him to lead. Here is Pastor Bill Luebkemann, in the book of Joshua, with some of that parting speech on Hope from the Word.

There are many schools and training camps and research facilities around the world devoted to warfare. They range from Edwards Air Force base in California where the sound barrier was first broken, to West Point where the US trains its leading officers in the Army. Today Pastor Bill Luebkemann talks about the siege on Jericho where the strategy taken to bring down the city would not have been found in any military strategy book. Here again in Joshua six is Pastor Bill…

Have you ever worked on a puzzle and just couldn't figure out how to complete it? Or maybe you had something that was broken and weren't able to fix it. Then somebody comes along and does something very simple and fixes the problem. Well, that's often what God does with us. He gives us a huge task, but also provides the solution. That is specifically what he does here for Joshua in attacking the great walled city of Jericho. He doesn't give elaborate plans but says simply march around the place and blow some horns! Here is Pastor Bill Luebkemann in Joshua chapter six, encouraging us to rely on the Lord!

Pastor Bill is taking us through the Bible and we're currently in Joshua. We're asking ourselves today, who do you put your trust in? Rahab lived in a very fortified city but she didn't put her trust in the walls or defenses. She put her trust in the Lord and that made all the difference. The walls fell but the Lord did not fail her. Let's look now at Joshua chapter two and consider if we're putting our faith in the right place. Here's Pastor Bill.

What is something you find wildly inconvenient? Maybe when a flight is delayed? Or an appointment gets cancelled? Or an appliance breaks? Those things sure are irritating. Do ever willingly put yourself in inconvenient situations? Today on Hope from the Word, we'll meet a woman named Rahab who willingly risks danger and inconvenience for the sake of the Lord. Pastor Bill Luebkemann will encourage us to put our faith into action no matter the cost as we look at Joshua chapter two.

Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you went in there? Or set something down and couldn't remember where you left it? It's human nature to be forgetful. Some things are harmless to forget. But other things could be life-threatening. Today on Hope from the Word, we'll hear a reminder that has eternal importance. Here's Pastor Bill Luebkemann continuing his message from Deuteronomy chapter eight entitled, “Do Not Forget the Lord.”

We're looking at a lesson that may be familiar to a lot of you and that is: Do not forget the Lord and do not forget what He has done for you. This is a lesson that's repeated a lot in the Bible. We humans tend to be forgetful. We love to hold grudges but we forget the good things that have come our way. Today will be a good reminder to look back and see how far God has brought us. Here's Pastor Bill Luebkemann in Deuteronomy chapter eight to bring us this reminder.
