Throughout our lifetime, our appetites tend to change. Most of us, at times, get tired or “burned out” of certain types of food. Our appetites change throughout the day as well. Imagine eating a chili dog for breakfast! Likewise, our spiritual appetites should change when becoming a Christian. At the moment of our conversion, the Holy Spirit begins to create a hunger and a thirst for righteousness in us. Today on Hope From the Word, Pastor Bill Luebkemann will ask us to consider what we are hungry for, and we'll see the truth in the old adage that “you are what you eat.” All of this is part of Pastor Bill's study of the beatitudes. Oftentimes we get the idea that meekness is the same as weakness. Maybe you think that if you display meekness, you make yourself a doormat.
