The Christian lifestyle is distinct from other pathways to morality, and necessitates a radical change. What is so distinctive about the Christian lifestyle, and how does it differ from other kinds of morality? 1) You do things because of who you are; 2) Christian morality has a distinct attitude toward the truth; and 3) Natural ability is not the basis for change, and therefore, failures have as much hope as successes.  This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on January 13, 1991. Series: Christian Lifestyle. Scripture: Ephesians 4:25-32. We’re looking at the characteristics—also known as the “attributes”—of God according to the Bible. This sermon looks at the grace of God. In this sermon, we’ll see that grace is a gift that is also indispensable and infinitely costly—and, if you see the indispensability and the costliness of God’s grace, it will come into your life as traumatic tranquility. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on May 1, 2011. Series: To Know the Living God; The God Who Makes Alive. Scripture: Ephesians 2:1-10. We’re looking at the characteristics—also known as the “attributes”—of God according to the Bible. This sermon looks at God as the God who makes alive.  When Israel was invaded by the Babylonians and taken into exile, they had no hope of the future. Yet God, through Ezekiel, gives them a picture of resurrection, and it’s both a hope and a strength to them and us.  This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on April 24, 2011. We’re looking at the characteristics—also known as the “attributes”—of God according to the Bible. This sermon looks at God as the God who reconciles sinners—we have to be reconciled to God, and God has to be reconciled to us. We’ll notice: 1) The more visible but lesser problem; 2)  The less visible but greater problem; and 3) The great solution to it all.  This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on April 17, 2011. Series: To Know the Living God; The God Who Makes Alive. Scripture: Hebrews 9:11-14, 22-26. We’re looking at the characteristics—also known as the “attributes”—of God according to the Bible. This sermon looks at the wrath of God—an attribute that probably gives modern Western people the shudders. From the passage, we’ll learn that God’s wrath is: 1) Warranted wrath; 2) Controlled wrath; and 3) Absorbed wrath.  This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on April 3, 2011. We’re looking at the characteristics—also known as the “attributes”—of God according to the Bible. This sermon explores the jealousy of God, perhaps the most offensive of all the things the Bible says about God. The text will show us: 1) What the jealousy of God is; 2) What it calls for from us; and 3) How we can answer the call.  This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on March 27, 2011. We’re looking at the characteristics— also known as the “attributes”— of God according to the Bible. This sermon looks at an attribute given in the form of an extended metaphor— God as a shepherd.  This particular passage is the longest text in the entire Bible depicting God as a shepherd. We will look at it under three headings: 1) A problem (human beings are sheep); 2) A partial but inadequate solution (human shepherds); 3) The ultimate answer (the Good Shepherd). This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on March 20, 2011. Series: To Know the Living God; The God Who Makes Alive. Scripture: Ezekiel 34:11-17, 23-29. We’re looking at the characteristics— also known as the “attributes”— of God according to the Bible. This sermon looks at the love of God, an attribute contemporary people are almost too comfortable with. The love of God is more complicated and complex than you might think.  Looking at an Old Testament and a New Testament text, we will uncover the multidimensionality of God's love.  This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on March 13, 2011. Series: To Know the Living God; The God Who Makes Alive. Scripture: Psalm 145:14-20; John 15:9-15. About Gospel in Life

Gospel In Life is a ministry that features sermons, books, articles, and resources from Timothy Keller, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and Redeemer City to City. The name reflects our conviction that the gospel changes everything in life. In 1989 Dr. Timothy J. Keller, his wife and three young sons moved to New York City to begin Redeemer Presbyterian Church. He has since become a bestselling author, an influential thinker, and an advocate for ministry in cities and to secular people.

About Tim Keller

Timothy Keller is the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, which he started in 1989 with his wife, Kathy, and three young sons.  For 28 years he led a diverse congregation of young professionals that grew to a weekly attendance of over 5,000.

He is also the Chairman & Co-Founder of Redeemer City to City (CTC), which starts new churches in New York and other global cities, and publishes books and resources for ministry in an urban environment. In 2017 Dr. Keller transitioned to CTC full time to teach and mentor church planters and seminary students through a joint venture with Reformed Theological Seminary's (RTS), the City Ministry Program. He also works with CTC's global affiliates to launch church planting movements.

Dr. Keller’s books, including the New York Times bestselling The Reason for God and The Prodigal God, have sold over 2 million copies and been translated into 25 languages.

Christianity Today has said, “Fifty years from now, if evangelical Christians are widely known for their love of cities, their commitment to mercy and justice, and their love of their neighbors, Tim Keller will be remembered as a pioneer of the new urban Christians.”

Dr. Keller was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and educated at Bucknell University, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Westminster Theological Seminary. He previously served as the pastor of West Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, Virginia, Associate Professor of Practical Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary, and Director of Mercy Ministries for the Presbyterian Church in America.
