Pilgrims and Strangers or World Changers? - To Keep Politics Out of the Church

June 3, 2024

Are we supposed to be pilgrims and strangers, or are we called to be world changers? Would pilgrims and strangers ever address themselves to the job of discipling the nations? Are pastors concerned with keeping politics out of the church, or equipping the man and woman of God to every good work? Christ's admonitions concerning salt and light are not merely descriptives, but prescriptives.

The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will feature three drag queens hoisting the Olympic torch . . . in accord with the Olympic theme this year—"Games Wide Open." We cover the history of feminism and transgenderism in the Olympics, but find that these doctrines were linked all the way back into the 1830s—with the first generation of philosopher-feminists.

The Elite are highly-educated liberal city dwellers, and they want to take over the country. They want to eliminate the vote for the uneducated and saddle the citizenry with more government control of every aspect of their lives. That according to a new Rasmussen report. These elitists are politically obsessed, utopian, and power hungry, and they already control the universities and the media. Will they gain totalitarian control of the country?

American founders weren’t libertarians in the modern definition of the term—homosexual pro-aborts arguing for the abolishment of the death penalty. But what of a relaxation on abortion laws? Why not? We give three reasons why a society cannot relax the law on killing babies.

The Arizona Governor has vetoed posting the ten commandments, but God is still in charge. Jesus is still King, and Arizona remains in rebellion against Him. But Louisiana may be a different story. Much progress has been made already to destroy the heritage of this country and undermine all common denominators upon which a multicultural nation formed. But will we respect that heritage ourselves as Christian families?

Christians are getting 2-5 years in prison now for participation in non-violent protests against abortion. We go over the history of Christian persecution in the United States of America beginning with Samuel Worcester and then Phillip Zodhiates, after which comes the current stream of persecutions. The government punishes Christians for trying to save the lives of their neighbor's babies. But what about the government mandating abortifacients for Christians in the near future? What's the best strategy to take to a nation that kills 70 percent plus of its babies?

The Biden administration has taken a tremendous step towards transgenderizing 13,000 school districts and 50,000,000 kids in this country. Governments secure centralized control of an institution, and then they pervert it, in that order. That's the way it works every time. Christians should take the principled stand, especially on Title IX. Governments have no business controlling education and the marketplace with Title IX-type regulations. We point out how feminism opened the way to transgenderism in the US via Title IX (and a whole lot of other policies).

Kansas City Chiefs' Harrison Butker is extremely not-woke in the woke world of sports. Will he receive the Izzy Folau treatment? Butker appeared to be coming from another planet when he spoke on men being men and women being women, "degenerate cultural values" at the Benedictine commencement. Will there be something salvaged of family life in the 21st century?

Are you prepared for a rainy day? Or a rainy year for that matter? When the lights go out, some people will freak out. They will not survive. But, how do we train our children to be resourceful and self-sufficient instead of state-dependent or institution-dependent, and able to take care of the basic needs of life? Would our families survive a year without the grocery store? Will we make it through the next Great Depression as well as our forefathers did in the 1920s and 1930s? Karen Morris from AreYouPreparedMama.com joins us on this edition with some super helpful tips.

An art display at the Augusta County School announced to all that, "God loves you, but not enough to save you." The statement deserves an answer, and the artist is demanding self-consistency from squishy Christians. A robust view of God, of salvation, of the nature of man, and God's judgment is essential to answer such snarky salvos. So here it is . . .

The fastest-growing church in the UK is the Chinese church. But the most phenomenal development of the last century was the tradeoff from West to East. The West lost ground and the East gained all of that ground back for itself. Christian adherents in Europe and North America as a percentage of the world population dropped by more than half between 1900 and 2023 (from 21.9% to 10.5%), while the percentage of Christians in Asia, Africa, and South America increased from 6% to exactly 21.9% of the world population. Amazingly, the two world people groups had exchanged positions over the last 123 years.
