The Toxic War on Masculinity - II

June 13, 2024

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Roger Marsh concludes his eye-opening discussion with Nancy Pearcy about her latest book entitled, The Toxic War on Masculinity: How Christianity Reconciles the Sexes. Nancy has worked tirelessly, building solid, empirical data that reveals God’s Word and His commandments do make a profound difference in the quality and purpose for our lives and for society. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female He created them.” Don’t listen to the enemy’s lies; men are not toxic as many in our culture would like for you to believe!

“How do we know Christianity is true?” Having been born into a culturally Lutheran family, Nancy Pearcey expected for someone to be able to answer this question. However, that was not always the case. Today on Family Talk, Roger Marsh discusses with Nancy how this deep-seated personal search for truth set her feet upon a path that would lead her to research that not only proves Christianity is true, but that without it, our society spirals out of control. They also discuss Nancy’s latest book, The Toxic War on Masculinity, and the origins of culture’s warped view of men.

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his honest and open discussion with Dr. Ben Carson. They discuss his book, The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture’s War on the American Family, and his great hope for America, even in the midst of these immoral and destructive times. Mark 3:24 says, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” Dr. Carson challenges us to wake up and get back to God and the basic principles of the Bible! We must concentrate on faith, family, and guarding our hearts against enemy tactics that seek to divide us by race, age, income, gender, political affiliation and religion.

In the words of Dr. Ben Carson, “The person that has the most to do with what happens to you, is you!” Coming from a life of poverty, and being a self-confessed “horrible student,” Dr. Carson overcame the odds and rose to become one of the youngest chiefs of pediatric neurosurgery in the U.S. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson speaks with Dr. Carson about his numerous and highly celebrated accomplishments, despite his humble beginnings. Dr. Carson gives glory to God and his mother who refused to be a victim, which was a life-giving philosophy that she passed along to both her sons.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Throughout history, Christianity has been constantly challenged and attacked by dangerous ideologies and wayward societal trends. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Jack Graham gives a presentation on one of those threats that has risen in popularity in recent years: socialism. He identifies its notable failures around the world, and explains why this ideology is in direct opposition to God’s Word.

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Gary Bauer concludes his heartfelt discussion with Mark Hancock, the CEO of Trail Life USA, about the serious “tug-of-war” taking place in the family, especially within the relationship of fathers and their sons. Our boys need to know that their dads are there for them, and are invested in their lives. Fathers need to model for their sons the biblical truths on which to stand, and how to live them out. The rewards will prove invaluable for generations to come. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

According to Mark Hancock, the CEO of Trail Life USA, we are outsourcing so much within our society, but one thing we cannot outsource is being a dad! Today on Family Talk, Gary Bauer talks with Mark about his new devotional entitled, Trail Ready: 101 Devotions for Dads with Boys. Gary and Mark discuss the biblical definition of fatherhood, and the destructive societal pitfalls we have been experiencing due to diminishing the integral role that dads play in raising boys. Instead of shaming fathers for what they have not done, we need to remind them of who God created them to be.
