We all need someone in our lives who is not afraid to “tell it like it is”. The Galatians had a friend like that, and his name was Paul. We’ll see just what he had to say to the Galatians today on The Dwelling Place.

Pastor Al Pittman is currently taking us through the book of Galatians - a letter written by Paul to a group of believers who had been seriously misled by false teachers. They had been taught by Paul that the gospel message was for Jews and Gentiles alike, but they had then been misled into believing that the gentiles were disqualified.

The Galatians talked a good game, but they actually had let false teaching and bigotry creep into their midst, and were preaching a gospel that contradicted the truth. Pastor Al is going to share some frank words about racism today. In today’s American Christian church, we tend to sweep racism under the carpet and pretend it doesn’t exist. Well, unfortunately, it does.

Pastor Al Pittman will underscore the gospel of grace alone through faith alone on today’s broadcast as part of our continuing study of Galatians. We’ve just begun a look at chapter two, where we read Paul’s passionate defense of the gospel.

Grace is the topic as we continue Al’s new series in Galatians. As we begin a look at chapter two today, Paul has set the stage for his theme in this letter. The churches in Galatia had fallen victim to false teaching. Of course, there was some backlash, but here in chapter two, Paul defends his authority to preach the gospel, and he defends the gospel message as well.

Today we continue our study through the book of Revelation. The last part of Chapter eleven provides a chance to step back. We’re at a point about halfway through the Great Tribulation - a time of unprecedented destruction and suffering. In Chapter eleven -  we will learn about the third woe, or the seventh trumpet judgment.

As we continue in Galatians one today, we are going to continue to see Paul’s angry reaction to his beloved friends in Galatia turning to a false gospel. Paul had taught them a gospel based on the grace of God, and the Galatians had turned to a gospel of works. Paul was thoroughly ticked!

Today we begin a series in Paul’s letter to the Galatian church. The underlying theme of this series is going to be one word - grace. The churches in Galatia had strayed away from the truths Paul had taught them when the church was formed. Salvation through grace was the corner stone, and the Galatians had listened to the wrong teachers after Paul left, and now they believed they had to work for their salvation.

Today pastor Al will bring us the final message in his series through Acts. What a journey it has been! We saw the birth of the post-resurrection church. The descending of the Holy Spirit. The conversion of Saul, and all of Paul’s amazing adventures. Today we are in chapter twenty-eight. We find Paul getting ready to leave Malta on his way toward Rome

We’ve been traveling through the Book of Acts and today we’ll enter into a study of chapters twenty-seven and twenty-eight, the last two chapter of Acts. In our last time together, we read about the Apostle Paul’s shipwreck off the coast of Malta. We saw that, despite the challenges, Paul didn’t let his circumstances derail him from his true focus, sharing the love of Christ!

Soon after, Al realized God’s call on  his life and began serving in the music ministry as a bass guitarist with a Christian band  called, “The Rays of Light.” It was during this time that Al met Norma, and they were married on July 19, 1975.

Al attended Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, graduating in 1977 with a degree in Biblical Studies. In 1991 Al and his family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and two years later he joined the staff of Calvary Chapel Albuquerque as an assistant pastor and co-worship leader. In the spring of 1997 the Lord called Al and his family back to Colorado Springs to pastor Calvary Worship Center. In 2006, Al earned his Master’s degree and in 2012 he earned his Doctorate degree in Ministry from Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
