We are nearing the end of a verse by verse journey through one of the greatest books in the bible - Paul’s letter to the Romans. Challenging is an understatement when it comes to the words we read here. Romans has been described as the Magna Carta of the Christian faith. Today we’ll continue in chapter fifteen, and a message all about hope - abounding  hope!

In Romans chapter fourteen we’ve learned lately about our relationship to other believers in matters of secondary importance.  Things that fall into the realm of Christian liberty.  It could be the music we listen to, or entertainment, the length of your hair, the food we eat, alcohol, or even smoking.  It’s not necessary for all Christians to agree on these issues, but they often are the center of great conflict and disagreement.  So let’s turn to Romans fourteen and see how to be pleasing to the Lord, and loving toward others.

The New Testament knows nothing of isolated believers; wherever you find Christians you find them together.  But that can create some difficulties because of our differences.  Not on essentials but non essentials. Someone once described it as “majoring on the minors”. Pastor Al will be in Romans chapter fourteen.

Today on The Dwelling Place, pastor Al Pittman heads back to Romans thirteen. It’s there we’re commanded to get rid of the things that hinder our walk and witness of the Lord Jesus.  The list of things that distract us is practically endless, and it seems to be growing every day. We need to be living in light of the promised soon return of Jesus. It’s time to wake up, to clean up and to grow up!
